While it was evident the maids effectively cleaned the room between guest(s), there is a definite lack of maintenance. We booked this hotel for both ends of our trip and stayed in a different room on each leg of that trip. The first room was very worn; torn chair arm, loose drawer knob, bathroom door didn't latch, vanity light out, stained carpet, etc. (see pictures). We weren't grossed out, as there was clear evidence that the maids had done a good job of surface cleaning between guests and linens were clean but there is either a lack of communication between the maids and the maintenance crew or the hotel just doesn't want to make the effort to address the issues - but clearly there are maintenance issues. The room for the second stay was better, but when we arrived one light was out on the vanity, and a second was strobing. That one also went out during our stay. Also, the "auto cool" function on the A/C didn't work - it never shut off no matter what temp we set it at. Stairwells are not swept or surface cleaned, and elevator is also worn and not the cleanest. In fairness, we didn't raise the issues to management, as the rooms did appear to be surface clean (other than the carpet) and we didn't want the hassle of moving rooms as our stay was short each time. (Not sure changing rooms would have mattered since there were issues in both rooms we stayed in).
