I found the stay (1 night, Deluxe King sized bed main building) generally excellent. The hotel is profusely decorated with mainly memorabilia from the American West and the Golden Age of Hollywood-a lot of cast and crew stayed at the hotel while filming on nearby locations. I was in the Gregory Peck room-decorated with materials specifically from him and his movies made nearby. The room was very clean and had basically everything needed, although this room did not have a mini fridge, so bring a cooler if you need things kept cold. The room was pretty small, fine for me as a solo traveler but two persons in the room would have to get along well. The hotel was renovated about 5 years ago, and the shower was really nice. It did require a bit of squeezing past the toilet to get to it, so if you have mobility challenges you might request an accessible room. The only negative (I think it really only affects visitors during seasonal changes), is that the main building in which my room was located, has an older style HVAC system, in which the heat and AC have to be switched over for the whole building. It was on heat yesterday, and my room was 80+ degrees when I checked in. The only option was to get a fan from the front desk, and open a window, which had no screen. So I just went to dinner early and hung out in the lobby until about 730 pm, after which the room was fine. The staff throughout were very pleasant and friendly, and the room was very quiet at night. I would stay again!

Hôtel formidable avec une âme. Un vrai plaisir pour nous dans notre parcours sur la Route66. Les petits défauts sont vites oubliés et ne mérite pas d’en parler. Dîner possible sur place, c’est pratique. Idem pour le petit déjeuner. À recommander !

This is a great place but there was no heat and we froze in mid-April. They claimed they turn off the heat for the summer. Since when is April the summer? They provided blankets but the room and bathroom were extremely cold. Check with them in advance to see if the heat is on.

Excellent experience again, overall. Cramped bathrooms would make it hard for those with mobility issues, though. Gallup does have a high crime rate, so make sure your vehicle is locked. The hotel does have an excellent security team.

Excellent hotel for fans of vintage Hollywood and/or Route 66! Reasonably priced, and very clean. On-site restaurant and gift shop are also excellent. Only drawbacks are no AC in the rooms (but the open windows allow a nice breeze), no included breakfast, and bathrooms are very cramped.

What an interesting and historical place to stay, amidst the regular chain motels you can usually find. The place is charming and beautifully maintained in its original design. We knew the area was a bit dangerous and sketchy. There are signs everywhere recommending you secure and lock everything up, despite the security they have protecting the property. We arrived with a little tear drop trailer that unfortunately does not lock. And a townie bicycle on the rack in the back. After parking and checking into our room we received a text from the front text that alerted us to utilize their storage room, since our bike was not locked. We did and we are grateful. We should have done the same for our propane tank, which was stolen in the night. But we were warned. We had a delicious dinner and enjoyed the best spicy margs. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Great service. I loved the gift shop as well and Veronica helped me pick out a gorgeous turquoise ring from their fabulous Native American jewelry collection. We enjoyed wandering the historic hotel, noting famous celebrities that have graced the hotel in the past. A random person shows us the secret way into the hidden lounge. And we enjoyed a little dance to the record player in there. Overall a wonderful experience, despite the theft we stupidly could have avoided. I’d never stay anywhere else in this one horse town.

This hotel has very friendly staff. I came in with a sunburn and they helped me to find a sav in thier gift shop to treat it. Each room is themed to a 1920- 1940 movie star which we thought was very unique. They have a gift shop, and restaurant on-site that was very nice because we didnt have to leave the hotel for any needs. Loved this place. The esthetics in the rooms and lobby were very antique but just accentuated the environment.

The hotel was clean and quiet. The rooms are small and lack a few small things. No shelf in the bathroom or shower. So nowhere to put your soap, shampoo brush ect. Also no hook for clothes or used towels. I found that odd. We did not eat there so I can't comment on that. It was easy to get to and in a location where there are food options. The location however is sketchy. Lots of police presence.
