This hotel is the definition of “you get what you pay for” - reasonably priced in a great location, with an excellent breakfast and very good staff, so what’s missing? Firstly, the hotel has no parking and the streets all around are full of cars looking for a parking space…we spent 40 minutes looking and ended up 15 minutes walk from hotel. Next, WiFi - despite hotel saying it’s available the service doesn’t connect reliably and drops out constantly. Third, the rooms are small - although the bathroom is adequate and there’s a tiny balcony. Fourth, there’s no A/C. So that’s are the downside…the upside is location - the beach is directly across the road in front of the hotel and is a fine sandy beach that shelves gently into the water and is safe for kids. The boat harbour and ferries are a five minute walk with lots of bars and restaurants and the fabulous town market is a ten minute walk and a must-see. There’s also a spectacular walking path that follows the cliff tops north all the way round to the Casino - about three kms so if you lose all your money you can walk back to the hotel. Highly recommended.

Dommage d’avoir eu un accueil et des échanges avec un monsieur qui devrait peut-être changer de métier… Peu aimable, très aigri ou peut-être simplement trop fatigué, mais dans tous les cas, cela gâche vraiment l’expérience. C’est d’autant plus dommage que la chambre était très belle, avec une bonne literie et une très belle salle d’eau. J’ai également aperçu le petit-déjeuner, qui avait l’air très bien. Mais même en faisant simplement un compliment sur sa présentation, je me suis fait réprimander parce que je n’avais pas pris la formule petit-déjeuner et que, visiblement, je n’avais rien à faire là… Bref, un accueil et un départ de l’hôtel vraiment pas agréables, qui contrastent malheureusement avec la qualité de la chambre et de l’établissement.

Emplacement à Royan idéal. Intérieur de l’hôtel très accueillant, propre. Chambre agréable et propre. Personnels rencontrés agréables. Peut-être inconvénient à venir : une terrasse est en train d’être construite -> si j’ai bien observé, cette terrasse sera peut-être accessible depuis la salle des petits déjeuners : pas très agréable pour les chambres concernées ! Ceci mis à part, je suis enchantée de mon week-end passé dans cet hôtel. Pas impossible que j’y revienne si l’occasion me le permet.
