Room was quaint and could have done with AC or a bigger fan. Fridge in the room did not seem to work well. Property is lovely and decorated to match its quaint design. Location is perfect for anyone looking to travel between Malmo and Copenhagen, plus has loads of local restaurants and bars within walking distance to get to experience a bit of the Swedish hospitality. Staff were amazing and were always helpful, no matter the time or the request. Friend said he recommends the stay highly because he got to make his own waffles for breakfast!

I had a great time at BW Hotel Royal. The lady at the reception desk was very kind and nice. My room was in a section of the hotel dating back to the 17th century - not something I would have imagined looking at the hotel from the outside. That was excellent! Breakfast was very good (a bit short on pastries but the rest was great). Only downside is that I could hear folks in the hallway, all the cracks and noises partly due to that section of the building being a few centuries old... The hotel is also very centrally located, a few minutes away from the railway station and by a nice canal. Outstading stay overall. Would definitely recommend.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, but I had a bad experience where I stayed at room 417. I locked the hotel door before I went to bed. Next day morning before going for breakfast, I unlocked the door but it does not open at all. Even if I pressed or forced it very hard, it won’t still open at all. Fortunately, the cleaner was there outside and knew something was wrong so she went to ask the hotel manager to use a special key and open it. It was a terrible experience. Imagine if there is a fire, I won’t be able to get out!! Please repair the door before you offer it to the hotel guests!! If your room is 417, don’t lock the door!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The breakfast was okay, but unfortunately the room was disappointing. The room only had one table fan, and we couldn't keep the windows open because large bugs kept flying in. The rooms were unbearably hot, and it didn't help that we couldn't turn off the heated towel rail. There wasn't even any shampoo or conditioner provided, and the bathroom was full of mold. The hotel could definitely do with a modern refurbishment. However, Henrik at the reception and the kitchen staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful, which was the highlight of our stay.

Loved the breakfast buffet assortment, especially the waffles! Hendrix is an amazing asset to the hotel. He is extremely personable & assisted us in anything we needed. He recommended the best pizza shop just around the corner, better than NY pizza and the owner is from Morocco. Loved my room in the original building from the 1500s, so quaint. Just steps from the train & bus station.

Old smelly damaged room. Worst hotel in Malmo, we had to buy soap to avoid the bad smelly soap of the place. The floor was damaged so as the walls and the furniture. The sheets were dirty and loaded with nasty different kinds of hair. We really felt disgusted to sleep in that filthy bed, we were tired and did not want to ask for a refund and change to another hotel. "Henry" the guy at the reception desk was really rude and unpolite, he said we didn't reserve any attention literally and as I said it was late and we were very tired I didn't want to have a discussion. Last time I book in this hotels chain, worst stay ever.
