I like to hike in N.AZ and often look for cheap accomodations in Holbrook or Winslow. I usually stay at Holbrook Motel6. But a low rate lead me to try Winslow Rodeway Inn. It doesn't make a good first impression: a little hard to find and it looks like a Soviet-era apartment building. And when I grabbed a parking place near the entrance I noticed the car parked next to me had a flat tire and looked like it had been there a while. BUT....I was greeted warmly, the room was fine, as was the breakfast. I liked the place just fine.

When we checked in the man at the desk seemed to be searching quite a while to decide where to put us despite having booked the room over a month in advance. We were given a room with 2 double beds instead of the 1 queen bed we had booked. When I complained later (after finding my booking receipt) he thought it was okay because "2 double beds is a more expensive room than 1 queen". By then we were too tired to move elsewhere after traveling all day. The bed made lots of noise whenever moving. The bathroom counter was not clean, bathtub cracked, shower curtain moldy, sink had to be cranked real hard to shut off from dripping, no hair dryer, bathroom light missing bulb and the fan appeared to have not been cleaned in years. The breakfast did not look good and the area was dirty, especially the case containing bread items. Obviously, we left right away and ate breakfast somewhere else. Don't bother starying here!

Staff was great room was clean. Towels were dingy, bed was on a metal frame that squeaked every time you moved. Not just a metal frame but a metal deck. Continental breakfast was just toast cereal waffle coffee. No tea no juice. Bathtub drain did not work so a bath was not available. Like I said staff was great price was right I would stay again. Just need to know what to expect.
