Management need to plan better

We used this hotel for a reunion of about 35 people. Also booked in was a wedding party. Both the Fri and more so on Saturday they ran out of most of draught beers and lagers! Having to mix our drinks is not good. Lack of planning by management. Staff behind the bar were excellent and apologetic even though it was not their fault. Very disappointed on that aspect of the service.

Disappointed and lack of customer communication .

The check-in was the only part of our stay I can genuinely praise. The room was booked for two people but was only prepared for one. It was extremely hot, and despite turning off the heating and opening the windows, the temperature remained unbearable. It wasn’t until well past midnight that someone finally came to the room, only to suggest we open the window a bit more. We were told we could check out late, which turned into another disaster. A very rude young lady nearly kicked the door down at 11am normal check out tome and abruptly told us to leave. When we asked to speak to a manager at the front desk, we were told the night staff had indeed passed on the late check-out message but no manager was available. I was assured that the manager would contact me. We’re still waiting… Yep, still waiting. I’ll update this review if that ever changes.

Avoid

We arrived at the hotel quite late in the evening and were given our room without any issues. While the room was clean, it was incredibly dated and, more importantly, had paper-thin walls. We could hear everything happening in the rooms around us. I went to reception to ask if anything could be done, and to their credit, they offered us a room swap. However, while I was discussing options with the receptionist, my partner texted me saying the couple next door had started having sex - and it sounded like they were in the room with him. Not exactly the relaxing night we had in mind. We accepted the room change, but unfortunately, the new room wasn't much better. It was uncomfortably hot (no air conditioning in the hotel), and with a busy street right outside the window, opening it for fresh air only meant dealing with traffic noise. I appreciate the staff’s willingness to help, but overall the experience was poor and I would not recommend staying here.

So sadly rundown and disappointing.

We have used this hotel previously and have always been pleased. However now it feels so run down- this hotel is in much need of renovation. The pool is poor and in much need of renovation and decoration. The breakfast was tasty but so sparse and we had to ask for items to be refilled. Lack of staff- the staff on reception were unfriendly and I felt like I was bothering one lady to request some towels. On the night we arrived we had no heating and the room was freezing cold. This was not fixed for our entire stay and we were given some oil heaters. There was no apology for this or refund. Overall the hotel had a joyless feel like it is being rundown ready for closure.

Do not stay here!

When I arrived, it was clear there was a large party taking place. There were large groups of people standing in the doorways smoking and the entire building stunk of smoke. When I asked at reception, I was informed that the party would stop at 12:30 am. When I got to my room, it was directly above the event smelt of smoke and I could hear the music Word for Word. I was so disappointed with the condition of the hotel the attitude of the Staff and the expectation that anyone could sleep in such an unsanitary and noisy environment I left and booked another hotel. Do not stay at this hotel if you can afford to stay elsewhere.

Poor Hotel with Excellent Staff

Very poor condition room, in need of much attention / replacement of items. This included an Electric Shower over the bath that did no function correctly - only producing a trickle of water! Very poor. Noise in corridor outside room up until 12:00 AM did not help matters. On a plus side the staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful.
