Nice resort with great food

Our cabana was nice, but the air conditioner could not keep up with the heat. Our first night we sweat through the night and slept on top of the covers. The next morning they looked at the AC and said it was frozen over and had been repaired. 8 hours later - still the same situation. They changed us to a smaller room that was more like a hotel style and the room was much cooler. Restaurant had great food and service. We really enjoyed the nearby beach ($5BZD) too! One other note. The pool bar opened up one day when we were the only ones there. The music was blasted so loud for no reason. I tried to order drinks and the bartender couldn't even hear me without yelling. We asked him to turn it down and it went from a 10 to an 8. We finally gave up an left. A few hours later though it was at a more reasonable level, but the pool bar should be for the guest's enjoyment...not the employees.

This resort is amazing. Very sweet cabanas as well as a gorgeous beachside property. If I were to go back to Caye caulker I would choose to stay on the south side rather than the north - however el ben had a complimentary private boat on a pretty frequent schedule going back and forth so it wasn’t too much of a problem that there wasn’t much going on around the resort.

Five stars isn’t enough for El Ben Cabanas. Our cabana was decorated beautifully for our anniversary upon arrival. The staff was so friendly and attentive and welcoming. The location is very accessible from the more active areas of the island but it’s separate enough that it’s nice and quiet all the time. My morning coffee on the porch watching the sunrise and listening to the birds was the perfect start to each day. Bikes, golf carts and water taxi were available to get around, no issues. Property was perfectly manicured, clean and beautiful. Sadie (housekeeping/room decorator extraordinaire!) and Melvin were especially wonderful but the entire staff was top notch. Already planning our next visit. Thank you, El Ben!!!

Was so beautiful…and was so easy to go across the Split to the South end. They give you a ride anytime on their golf cart to ferry…and you call them when you come back. The restaurant was absolutely outstanding. Wonderful dinner selections, great drinks and very, very reasonable prices. Not expensive! Really no beach to speak of…but there is a beach down the road with chairs and they will take you there. Love the customer service!!!!

Resort was beautiful, staff was wonderful and accommodating. We were hesitant about staying on the North side of The Split but worked out great. There were no resorts or hotels that compared to El Ben on the South side and between the El Ben boat and the rides to The Split, it ended up being no problem to be on the North. Plus it's much quieter. Highly recommend!

We did not get into our room until 1 am. We had left to go to across the split to enjoy the island while our room was being ready and didn't return in time to get in. This was partially our fault but the lady was very disgruntled letting us in at this hour and even commented that I must still be feeling "high and drunk" from the night before, very unprofessional and unacceptable. The location was not handy as it was across the water and the mode to get back was cumbersome. I recommend somewhere else.

First off, El Ben was fantastic and would or will stay again! The top thing was the excellent staff. (Johannes, Zion, Melvin, Freddy, Keith, Mike, Magdaleno and more who I’m surely skipping) So friendly and helpful! Food was great with enough choices and decent prices for the quality (chef was just booked for a wedding at another site because people loved his food). Easy free boat access across the split. Minor improvements that could make it better: make sure guests know to drink the bottled water instead of tap, add a few rolling umbrellas to the pools, and switching to refillable large soap/shampoo containers mounted in the shower might make it easier and eco-friendly. Again these are just improvements and not complaints, because we don’t have any complaints! North Side is great if you like peace and quiet for sleeping and relaxing but you are 5 minutes or less from the busier South Side when you want it.

Bel hôtel mais pas à la hauteur

Les chambres cabanes sont magnifiques, le restaurant est délicieux (petit déjeuners, cocktails, déjeuners et dîners). La navette en bateau privé gratuite pour passer d’un côté et de l’autre de l’île est très appréciable (il y’a des horaires fixes mais ils sont nombreux tout au long de la journée/soir tard). Il y a 2 petites piscines qui entourent un bar. C’est très appréciable ! Attention tout de même car la piscine est ouverte aussi aux personnes extérieures de l’hôtel. On a eu le droit à des petits jeunes qui se petaient la tête à l’absolut à 10h du matin en se faisant des selfies vulgaires du genre bouteille entre les seins ou sur le string. Franchement d’un grand grand mauvais goût.. avec musique à fond toute la journée. Conclusion les clients de l’hôtel fuient La mangrove devant les cabanes était un détritus de plastique à notre arrivée. Pendant 2 jours jusqu’à ce que je dise à la réception que c’était intolérable pour un hôtel de ce standing. Rappelons le 240euros la nuit. Le lendemain l’hôtel avait fait le nécessaire… Le deuxième jour j’ai mis l’écriteau sur la porte pour faire la chambre à 10h du matin (comme la veille) or le soir en rentrant la chambre n’avait pas été faire. Réponse de la réception au lieu de s'excuser 1) il faut mettre l’écriteau ET prévenir la réception (ça n’existe nulle part ça…) 2) ils avaient eu trop de checkout checkin ce jour là. Conclusion : bel hôtel mais qui ne vaut absolument pas le prix payé. Bon standing mais pas à la hauteur.

Staff is very helpful and pleasant. Boat available many times throughout day to go back and forth across spliit. Cabanas are nice thougg given construction expect to hear neighbours some if you are in a duble sided cabana. Restaurant was good.

I love, love, love this place. The staff was outstanding and once you get the hang of the boat schedule to the other side it’s smooth sailing. If you are not good at figuring out the schedule for the boat, the staff will take you on a golf cart to The Split to catch a ferry. It’s not too far either and we walked several times. Just give them a little notice. My only issue with the place was that the bathroom is open to the room on top. We would like a little more privacy in that area.

This property is beautiful! We enjoyed the quiet mornings, watching the birds from our deck, or reading at the pool. It is clear how hard the staff works at keeping the landscaping and buildings looking great. The staff are friendly, we enjoyed chatting with them during our visit! We ate at T and T’s often, the meals were always tasty and well plated, and the prices were very reasonable. The boat was so convenient to take us to south Caye Caulker- the ride is very quick! It was a 10/10 for our family! We will be back!
