A Fan of Pirates Inn

The side street entrance looked sketchy, but we were pleasantly surprised at the nice decore, beautiful tropical plants and rooms overlooking the pool. The room was more a studio apartment with a patio and lovely wrought iron grillwork. I greatly appreciated the AC remote control! I swam most days and enjoyed the wonderful selection of coffee table books about Barbados history, art and culture. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Also, a mall next door and a boardwalk were pleasant surprises!

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE- NOT SAFE!

Once our taxi pulled up I thought for sure we were at the wrong place. The iron gates/hotel entrance had a chain with a padlock hanging on it and the parking lot was literally empty. Now the girls at the front were super nice- this is not a reflection on them. Next, the photos of the pool area, bar, reception are NOTHING like the photos on the app. All empty and dark. We checked in, were led to a room with foil lining the toaster oven in the “kitchen” and given a key for room #73 that said #37 “for security” in her words. We set our things down, called hotels.com who tried to contact the manager who was conveniently not available until the next day- not even by phone- and they said she doesn’t have a “set schedule” so they don’t know when she’ll be there. Needles to say, the kept our money for the entire week! - no refund. I should not have trusted the online photos or reviews!!! Oh and they copied our passports which felt weird. So now some sketchy people have our family’s passport copies. I was scared to say too much because they have all our info. We had to gather all our bags and drag them down to the Courtyard Marriott which I much say was great!!! When we told the taxi driver where we were leaving from, he said- ohhhh yeah. Y’all need to go somewhere else. I could understand if they kept one night’s money, but the whole weeks worth??? I give negative stars!

Great location, close to the beach with a pool

It has a great location, close to good beaches, some good restaurants and the bus between Oistins and Bridgetown just outside. The areas is nice and not just for turists. We also stayed a few nights at St Lawrence gap, which is a 100% touristic place. Next visit I would be back at Pirates inn. Friendly and relaxed place with a nice swimming pool. The breakfast is a bit expensive, with so so quality.

Initial hiccups but staff did everything to help.

Didnt get off to the best start, as the transfer the hotel arranged from the airport didnt arrive. Apparently the driver had had an emergency. Got a cab from outside the terminal for US$35 which was fine. Also, when we arrived, the fridge/freezer wasnt working. Someone came to look at it the next morning and sorted it out. The room was functional but clean and suitable for our needs for two nights. After the initial hiccups, the staff checked to see if we were ok on three different occasions, and gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate my birthday which was a nice touch. Overall, the staff were really friendly and really tried to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks to everyone!

Lovely

Very quiet and safe. Staff are lovely and friendly. Pool area was cleaned daily and very nice. Close to boardwalk. Bartender makes a mean gin and tonic and makes proper fresh squeezed lemonade on request! Will definitely stay again!

What a gem of a hotel

Fantastic small intimate hotel with great team of people looking after the guests. Room was spacious with lots of storage. Pool and bar area is clean, well equipped and a peaceful place to enjoy the sun and pool. Beach and boardwalk are a few minutes walk away so you're never far from somewhere to eat, drink or shop. It's a short ride on the zr buses to St Lawrence Gap or Bridgetown if you want a change of scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pirates Inn and can't wait to come back.

4 minutes walk to the sea.

Very comfortable bed. Large room could sleep 4. All that you might need for a stay provided in the room if you want to self cater. Breakfast and lunch available beside the charming garden pool. Staff really helpful. Great value for money.

Great location

Great non luxury apart hotel! Location is everything and Pirate Inn is just across the road from the beach. Although the accommodation is dated everything is spotlessly clean. Staff are very attentive and helpful. There’s a small pool area with loungers.

Hidden Gem

Due to our flight we arrived early (around 11) we knew check in wasn't until 3 so decided to hang out and enjoy the bar/pool area. Receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, stored our luggage for us so we could relax. Enjoyed lunch at the bar area. Very, very friendly lady staffing the area, who made a great lunch. Pool/Garden area is lovely, very clean and well laid out. We hung out there until our room was ready. Room was very clean and well appointed. We were only sorry that our stay was for just one night. We would most definitely return to this hotel for a longer stay. Would highly recommend.

Close to the beach and lots of dining options.The room was comfortable and clean. The pool was nice. On Sunday morning there was a woman named Kelly who sang and played the saxophone;She was excellent! This was our second, but hopefully not our last stay here. I highly recommend!

The property was exactly what we needed it was clean quite just off the main road where transport was easily accessable with a small shopping center a few hundred feet away ,the boardwalk is also just a small stroll away, i usually hire a car but didn't need to the transport van are everywere ,brilliant service

I have never stayed at a hotel before where the entire staff was not only very wonderful in every way, but they are accommodating, the food is amazing. The owners are so nice and kind and this is the kind of place. You really do feel very comfortable in I would not say it’s like being at home because when I’m at home sometimes it’s very difficult because although my family is wonderful, we are all difficult. I would say that staying at Pirates Inn, is better than home meaning better than being around family but you do feel at home. Thank you so much to Pirates and staff and owners and the grounds are wonderful and the restaurant and the chefs are amazing.
