An affordable, comfortable stay

When I received a QR code to check in I was happy that it seemed it was going to be a quick check-in so we could get into our room asap and then go out and begin our holiday. It's a good concept but unfortunately it didn't work for any of the guests attempting to use them. We managed to check in but it failed to give us a key so we had to get assistance from reception. All of the staff here are very helpful and friendly. I think they should just remove the kiosks and place more desks there as they have fantastic staff. The room itself was okay. It was very clean (besides the windowsill) and we had a comfortable stay. However, the rooms could definitely do with investment. It was very poorly lit, plug sockets were loose/squint, and the TV didn't work for us at all. Breakfast was excellent quality and there was a wide variety to choose from - well worth the money we paid for it. We made use of the restaurant's 'call & collect' service for an evening meal and they missed out a side and forgot to remove cheese for a dairy intolerance - but staff were approachable, professional and apologetic and fixed it immediately. The meal was good quality and it is a useful service to have. 12pm check out was very much appreciated. I would stay here again, however, the hotel desperately needs investment in the rooms and the outside of the property.

Overall pleasant, couple of glitches though.

Overall a pleasant stay, was given the wrong room initially so walked in on a couple. The rooms air-cons did not work, although opening the windows kept it cool enough. Good breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and i had a great nights sleep. My only problem was that the room was so small. For 119 for a night it was tiny. I needed to do work on my laptop and struggked with such a small half moon table that just fitted a teldphone. I appreciate i was in the centre of York but that room was too small. Also overnight parking at £20 is a lot!

Dont waste your money

Paid for a twin, got to the hotel asked if it was possible to have a room facing the river to be told it wasnt possible as twins are made up the night before... fine ok my fault for not asking a few days prior, got to our room and it was a double , went back to reception and she said this will be sorted asap. As we left the hotel for food and drinks reminded reception that our beds needed changing. Got in at 11.30pm went up to the room to find it still hadnt been changed . The landing to our room also stank of sewerage and had made our room smell too. We went for a night cap to then be told it was a card only hotel.

Disappointed with condition of building. Room was small. Air conditioning didn’t work properly. TV was set up with very few Chanel’s, although several porn channels present. No BBC, ITV. Breakfast was ok’ish. Smell of drains in several locations

Good location

Good location of hotel and booked a river view room which was great. We managed to get a parking space in the hotel carpark which was a bonus too. Room and bathroom wasn’t as clean or to the standard that we were expecting from a Radisson hotel and at the price we paid which was disappointing.
