We were locked out of our suite even though we had paid for late checkout. While that was eventually resolved, the inconvenience continued—our electricity hadn’t been restored, and I had to call the front desk to get the lights turned back on. We also discovered the pool was closed for renovation, but only after we asked about it. The hotel does provide free transportation to the beach, though we didn’t use it as we had a flight to catch that afternoon. Breakfast was limited in variety, but the staff was courteous. The gym, though small, was well equipped and had an instructor on site.
Overall, our first stay at the Kempinski Dubai was quite a maddening experience.
