A good hotel in a lively location
We had a good experience when we stayed for 5 nights in late July 2025. The location is superb, right in the centre of Galway's vibrant Latin Quarter. Our room was somewhat small, but clean and modern. Adequate for our needs and good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
However, if you're considering a stay at the Snug Townhouse I'd like to make you aware of a couple of things;
First, this hotel is in a lively, noisy location. Pubs adjacent to and opposite the hotel are busy until the early hours of the morning, so is the street outside. Our room was on the first floor facing Quay Street. The noise didn't bother us, but may well keep more sensitive guests awake at night.
Secondly, the Spanish Arch carpark is very convenient. A short walk from the hotel and always has spaces (best value for us was a weekly ticket for 50 euros). But it is narrow and tight. I'd recommend you only enter if you have a small to average sized vehicle. Those with medium+ size cars were struggling to manoeuvre and squeeze into the small parking spaces.
