The pros: the building is safe and secure, although you are in the downtown area. The cons,: the apartment is a bit grungy, low ceilings , lighting is low, windows are small, the hideaway bed in the couch mattress was extremely uncomfortable. You could feel the frame underneath. The television system is set up for people only younger than age 30 , I couldn’t get it to work. It couldn’t watch local channels. You need a subscription of some sort. I go to Ottawa often. there are nicer, more modern like- open space type apartments for the same price to choose from. Surprised at Marriott for being connected with this apartment complex. I won’t be back

It was not clear when I booked that this is a “self service” hotel and all the emails the hotel sent to me were not useful, as I was not able to “verified” myself before check in. I was locked out of the hotel as we arrived and luckily one front office staff was still on duty! I will never book such an accommodation again, and Hotels.com somehow transmitted my Last name wrongly to the hotel. Bad experiences totally

The room was confortable, clean and very well equipped. On the downside the room was a little bit dark and the decoration not very joyful. We strongly recommend this hotel and we would definitively stay there again.

The Sonder O’Connor is in a great location for restaurants. Elgin Road has so many choices. We went to a Diner, a pub , a Mexican restaurant and all were good The parking at the Sonder was convenient. Our room was small but well equipped. The hotel is very clean.

Sonder The O'Connor, Ottawa

Excellent size room which could easily be a small 1 bedroom apt. Good location for the things we wanted to do. Only Sonder in Ottawa that I could find on site parking...very convenient..Had a full kitchen including small dishwasher. They provide all supplies, but there is a cabinet on the main floor where you can get xtra if needed. Overall very clean and modern. I gave a good for clean because our unit had a couch, chairs, carpet and cushions that could have been cleaner and more comfortable. We had a very comfortable California king bed that was perfect, The ROKU cable tv is lousy..no local shows or sports and 35 year old shows. Original tv remotes didn't work and toaster only worked partially. Both issues corrected almost immediately when reported to front desk. The staff I met were excellent and responded quickly. Staff is onsite I believe from 9 a.m.-11:30 p.m. If the need arises, they have an app. that you can communicate most things directly ... towels, service etc. Games room, laundry facilities, gym all great. Lots of stuff nearby and the Museum of Natural History is around the corner. The hotel hits a very good price point for what you get. I checked other brand name hotels in the area that were much more expensive for 1/2 the space and conveniences. Sonder is a sub brand to one of the major chains. Well done.

Great location but ....

If you plan to do any work at the hotel, the chairs in the studio rooms are awful. The ones at the table are as uncomfortable as the hard wooden one at the desk. My door was left open by the cleaning staff because it didn't close properly and you can hear every person who walks by your door (and see plenty of light around/under it) so I assume they can hear me. The water pressure in the shower leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hand, it's convenient to Bank street and shops and getting on the Queensway if you need to be driving around the city. The internet is strong and I've had no problem. The car parking while not cheap is convenient or you can find free parking on the weekend with some effort and having the kitchen is nice and it's in pretty good working order (a frying pan would be a good addition). The bed is comfortable and the staff are pleasant, so it's not awful but not nearly as nice as the Sonder in Montreal where I stayed.

On a choisi un appartement de 47m2. Il était superbe ! Très bien équipé, très propre, ce fut un très bon séjour. Il n'est pas très loin du parlement et de certains commerces. On entend légèrement l'extérieur et le couloir. Des boules quies sont données. Cela nous a pas dérangé. Je recommande vivement si vous voulez passez un séjour sur Ottawa.
