Started w/low expectations. Ended with threats.
When we arrived to check in, someone else was apparently in our room. After waiting until almost midnight, the put us in a different room, expecting to resolve the issue in the morning. In the morning, the room issue was not resolved. We were asked to check out and store our things until the room assigned to us was available. We were in town for the music festival and that did not work for us. After several hours they put us in a different room. The hotel is old, dated, and not in a nostelgic way. The carpet is dirty throughout and the rooms smelled of years of salt water and sand. The beds were old and very uncomfortable. The AC was hit and miss and good luck getting hot water ... but it was 6 blocks from the festival and we had a room, so we stayed. Came to find out the hotel is under new management this year and they are hopeful to turn things around. The front desk asked us to pay the bill the next morning. We explained we have a paid in full receipt through the hotel.com app. The front desk said they would check with management and let us know if there is an issue as they presumed there was an issue with the previous management. We heard nothing further. After we checked out, management sent us a message threatening to involve the ocean city police. No questions or other communications. Not the best customer service experience nor the best hotel experience. I hope they are able to turn the place around. Its a beautiful buiding in a great location.
