A beautiful stay with lovely hosts. We stayed in the family suite and had a living room in addition to two bedrooms. Our children refused to go out for dinner our first night because they loved the coziness of our rooms so much! Luckily, there are great takeaway options in Manchester, which is just a short ride. It rained during our two-night long stay, but Kevin helped us fill our day with great suggestions, helped with discounts, and ALSO wrote us a list for nice places to eat with kids in NYC (our next stop). Mike cooked delicious breakfasts, even extra early one of the days since we had a long drive ahead. We would definitely love to come back, hopefully in better weather so we could sit on the old porch overlooking the brook across the street. A truly unique, cozy inn!

Lovely Bed and Breakfast

We had a lovely stay at the Ira Allen House. Breakfast was hot and delicious and Mike accommodated our gluten free needs from fresh pancakes to homemade cookies. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Vermont.

This b&b was everything we hoped for- the hosts Michael and Kevin are just wonderfully charming and welcoming. A few things that clearly stood out for us- Location- about 7-8 minutes from downtown Manchester. The area was incredibly stunning- leaves changing air was crisp- pure perfection! Silly things…freshly made cookies each day in the entry area & having freshly brewed coffee at 730 am before breakfast served was a lifesaver! The breakfasts were not only delicious but the epitome of a New England hearty meal- each morning starts with fresh locally made skyr yogurt with fruit- then day 1: homemade waffles, thick cut bacon (to die for), day 2 scrambled eggs, ham & home made maple bran muffins. Day 3 maple corn waffles, eggs and bacon. Just amazing. Our suite was huge and had more than enough room for just the 2 of us. The weather got very chilly overnight and having the wall heaters were perfect. Each day our room was clean, fresh towels (and we might add plenty of them as well) daily. If we had any suggestions- the bath/shower just a tad small in that suite- shower curtain sort of sticks to you as you are showering, BUT regardless it did the job. And the couch in that area a little uncomfortable- but there was a chair with an ottoman that was very comfortable. Honestly, our overall experience was just phenomenal and those 2 little blips were the only (slightly) negative aspects. Would recommend this b&b to anyone!

A lovely stay at The Ira Allen House

We had a wonderful stay at The Ira Allen House! Our host, Michael, was very warm and welcoming. His attention to detail around cleanliness, decor and delicious breakasts were happily noted. We'll be back to visit this quaint B & B and spend time in the lovely town of Manchester.

A Delightful Place to Stay in Southwestern Vermont

The inn is old and doesn't offer the luxury of other inns and B&Bs in the area. But it was still a wonderful place to stay at a very good value. Michael, the owner, could not have been more attentive to our needs. He made a fantastic breakfast for us every day (as well as scrumptious cookies) that exceeded in both quality and quantity what one typically gets from more expensive inns & B&Bs. In addition, the room and bed were very comfortable and the shower was perfect. The inn was a short drive from Manchester and many good restaurants. I definitely recommend it.
