Air con not working properly; finishes all fraying and worn; what seems to be non-compliant electrical setup (extension cord for appliances?); minimal low-quality bedding with no blanket/no extra warmth; minimal and threadbare linens, with very little supply in the basement (didn’t enjoy having to go to the basement to scrounge for supplies at $300 per night. Would not recommend to anyone over the age of 25

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve stayed at The Ridge. It’s the only place I stay in Manhattan- 3-4 times a year. It feels like staying with friends—I always know I’m in good hands. Despite what you might read elsewhere there is a staffed front desk (some of the friendliest people you’ll meet) & luggage storage. They go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable often allowing early check-in or late check-out if they can. Each room has a microwave/ mini fridge & with a Whole Foods just two blocks away it’s easy to keep things budget-friendly. The rooms aren’t huge but they’re clean & have everything I need. There’s even an HDMI TV—I always plug in my Roku stick. Perhaps, one of the best features is the rooftop terrace -with breathtaking city views. The location is perfect—walkable to Little Italy, Chinatown, Washington Square, the East Village, Katz’s, Russ & Daughters & Yonah Schimmel Knishes just a block away. The subway is a quick 3-minute walk. I travel solo & I’ve always felt safe here-day or night. Yes, there’s street noise—it’s New York—but a white noise app solves that. For the price & convenience The Ridge can’t be beat. I almost didn’t write this because it feels like my secret hidden gem but it truly deserves the praise. Huge thanks to Jasmine, Wilma, Edgard, Orlando, & the young man who had to keep delivering packages to my room on my recent stay. If anything comes up, just ask— they handle everything quickly & kindly. I’ll never stay anywhere else!

Room was clean. Safe, secure building. Nice rooftop patio. Jasmine at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. It was loud but it's New York so you should expect that. It didn't affect my opinion of the hotel. I'd stay there again!

Rummet väldigt slitet. Golvet något smutsigt men för övrigt kändes det rent. Bra med mikro, kaffekokare och kylskåp i rummet. Något lyhört när andra gäster befann sig i korridoren. Läget för oss var bra så att vi nådde det vi ville se på ca 1 timmes promenad åt olika håll. Personalen hjälpsam och väldigt bra att man själv skötte eventuellt byte av handdukar/lakan och slapp serviceavgift. På samma plats fanns också både kallt och varmt vatten om man ville göra te tex.

a perfectly serviceable hotel close to the train and tons of food and shops. it’s clean and the staff is very helpful and sweet. it’s *loud* though, especially if your room faces Houston. the rooms are small, the bed is fine but not particularly comfortable. the linens are pretty terrible. all that said, I’d probably stay there again but ask for a room on the other side of building. it’s really convenient if you’re visiting to do stuff and not spend time in the room. it feels safe and has a cute roof deck and every person at the front desk was very sweet. it could really use 20% more attention to comfort, though.

They only hold your luggage for a few hours after you check out so if you have a late flight out of NYC (like I did) you're totally screwed. I had to go down the block and rented a room for 1 day at the Gatsby because my flight left at 8:45 pm and I couldn't haul 2 suitcases all day.

I stayed 3 days by myself. I certainly wouldn't stay here ith myself but it was an okay value for a quick solo trip. My door code didn't work two of the three days, requiring me to go back to the lobby to get a new code both times. The staff were okay; certainly didn't apologize for the code not working but they did resolve it. AC didn't work my final night, when it was 90+ degrees outside. If it's <$150 a night I'd stay here again. If it's more than that it's a no go.

The AC was out, and although the staff apologized when i checked out, there was no offer of a partial refund or anything, and the room was pretty stifling. Also, the email check in system is dysfunctional. I didn't get a request to fill it in until 1330 on the day I was to check in. It used to come 24 hours in advance, and I was in mid-travel when it arrived. And although I filled it out, it had clearly not uploaded to the system, and I never received the email with entry codes. If I had arrived late, I would have been unable to get in.

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We were able to store our luggage and within an hour our room was ready. We enjoyed the rooftop deck as it had great views of New York City. The room was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely book this property again.

The hotel was as advertised and quite clean with good bedding. It is a small venue but that was expected. The rooftop is fun, although the weather kept us away for most of our stay. The codes all worked and access was easy. Good value.

Great location for east village\soho! If you need a place to sleep and shower, this is a great option and a good value for the price. It felt safe, code system and check in were easy. There was free in room coffee and snacks in the lobby which is a big bonus for me. Room was bigger than most in that area and the bathroom was more private than others nearby. Bed was fine, sheets and pillows were below average. Room was clean although the place felt a little run down. Tv didn’t work, lighting in bath didn’t work, but it was fine. The staff we did encounter were great. If you want a cool place to hang out, this isn’t it but if you want to be out and about all day it’s a great option!
