Check in was not pleasant. Long line & our receptionist was very grumpy, and later claimed to be the property manager. That card didn’t work! I went down to the receptionist again and she me another card. That card worked but the room was occupied!!!!! The same receptionist gave me both cards and claimed that it was my mistake bc of the written room #. She had taken information on the card and papers from me. She also claimed I misread the room # but she had that info.
After going back and forth for 20 minutes, the receptionist walked us to our correct room. If she was the manager, then she needs lessons on manners and professionalism.
In addition, the evening reception was crude. Old veggies, a few peanuts and potatoe chips.
This morning breakfast was similar to the breakfasts that I have had there before. The so called “hot” foods were like luke warm and way below proper serving temperatures, esp. the eggs, bacon & sausage. I requested the main food worker to increase the food heating units from #2 and he did so to #4. This guy knew better but didn’t care. The coffee was like dishwater and the food selection was limited. The silverware holders were really nasty.
This is probably the best hotel in San Marcos. There was a recent renovation. Our room was quite nice. I don’t think we’ll be back.
