Best hotel I have stayed in for some time. Lovely setting excellent food with staff that couldn't have been better on arrival, in the bar/restaurant service , breakfast and check out . Great value for money. Shame only got to stay for a single night as was on business trip I think it will be one to use in the future not only for business.

🏨 Hidden gem alert! 🍽️ Just spent a couple of days at The Lion at Malpas and what a find. Beautiful rooms, fantastic food, and great attention to detail throughout. Generally the rooms are to a high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, and the staff really friendly. Easy car parking. Only quibble is that we tried to book another 2 day stay, the system didn’t allow this - wanted 3 or more: this may vary with time of year.

Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole
