We had a great vacation while in Huntsville and were very happy with our stay at Hidden Valley. Our room had a beautiful lake view and the staff were positive and helpful. The resort was incredibly located for the wedding I was attending, and I imagine is perfect for those who love to ski, with the chairlifts, basically next to the parking lot in winter! The staff was lovely, shout out to Lana. My only complaints, and it's not really the fault of the hotel were the 10+ people who let their doors slam, waking me up several times, as well as those who allowed their kids to run in the hallways screaming at 7:30am. Also, the iron in the room leaked water all over my clothes, so that was a tad annoying, but I made it work in the end. The beds were clean, floors felt a bit sticky, the bathroom was clean, and the soaps/lotions provided were nice.

Great little getaway weekend! We were there for the Ironman and this place far exceeded our expectations. Room was great with a lovely view of the lake, beach was nice and sandy, pool area was nice as well. We ate at the restaurant one night which was really good!! Every interaction we had with a hotel staff member was super pleasant. Would definitely come back. Such a hidden gem!

Upon arrival the check in was quick, the room was clean however the cracks in the leather chair we deep and should have been replaced ages ago, microwaves in the rooms would be a good idea. We had to ask where the ice machines were and then found the microwave on the first and third floors. No elevator for access to the third floor so if you can’t do stairs request the second floor only. Our view was beautiful, the bed was good. The AC isn’t cooling well, so as I usually do when I go to hotels, I checked the filter. It was completely covered and needed cleaning. Even then the ac was noisy and could have cooled the room better. The restaurant buffet was just ok. Eggs, bacon sausage were fine but the pancakes were mini hockey pucks. The pastry were lovely. A bit overpriced at $17.00 per adult The in door pool was somewhat cloudy. They did repair the dial on the hot tub quickly and it was great. The beach was wonderful and well maintained. In general it was quiet and what I needed to recover from surgery. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

We checked into our room which was dated but okay. The floors felt dirty and wet. We settled in and decided to lake the best of it but when we climbed into bed the bedding was damp at our feet. We called the front desk who tried to help by bringing fresh bedding but when we went to change the sheets we discovered the foot of the mattress was soaked with who knows what!!! We asked to change rooms and they accommodated us with another room without a lake view but thankfully with a dry mattress. The outdoor pool was closed. We would not recommend.

Our bathroom was not very clean. There was mould on the ceiling in the shower and the grout could use a good scrub. The breakfast was ok, but 2 days in a row there were dirty plates. A variety of fresh fruit for the breakfast would be nice. Wasn't really much of a selection and not worth the money in my opinion. There are about 95 steps (my daughter counted) to get down to the lake from the resort. Not sure how someone with any mobility issues would manage to navigate the climb down and back up. The outdoor pool was very cold (I was say at least the same temp as the lake, maybe even cooler. Don't necessarily need a heated pool, but even a solar blanket at night to keep in the daytime heat would help. There was a staff room on the 2nd floor and all we could smell for 2 days, throughout out the hall was fried fish, which I believe was coming from their employee break room. The saving grace was the lakefront. There was always chairs, as long as you are there before 10am, and we managed to stay in the shade. It was fairly quiet and peaceful at the lake, and the person handling the kayaks and canoes, was very nice and friendly. I think I would spend the extra money next time and stay next door at Deerhurst.
