Horrible Staff/Service

This hotel is fine, but not very clean and the service is the worst I've seen. I don't even know how this place is still in business. The front desk people we worked with were incompetent, they were very stingy with the towels, and they were unnecessarily rude to some of the guys in our group. My room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it smelled like an ashtray and the toilet was clogged when we got there. They came and fixed the toilet, but the only remedy they had for the smoke was to spray some air freshener. They would not give me another room. I might stay here again, but hard to say for sure after my last experience.

Don’t stay here!

This hotel will put charges on your bill after you check out and force you to spend hours of your time to try and recoup the fraudulent charges. The billing number that they give you doesn’t handle this hotel. They tell you to call the hotel directly and then you can’t get a hold of anyone. This used to be a nice hotel. It isn’t anymore it’s dirty, the elevators are broken, and the parking lot is unattended.

You get what you pay for.

I could smell cigarette smoke nearly the entire stay. TV only offers cable, we even brought a fire stick but did not work with TV. Very outdated decor. Only switch on TV was an on/off switch and when trying to find knobs, ended up with a handful of dust from TV. Also, volume could only be turned down to 13, no further.

Dirty, Bad vibes, bad management, feels unsafe.

I’ve stayed at this place a couple times in the past and it has definitely gotten a lot worse since my last visit. It’s pretty apparent that the management of this hotel is attempting to fight off an onslaught of local crackheads and gambling addicts… the issue is, their attempts don’t seem to be warding off any crackheads or gambling addicts and instead just make the guest experience worse for the paying customers. Checking in here feels like what I might imagine checking into a casino jail feels like the front desk personnel are so aggressively impolite, jaded and inhospitable you immediately get the feeling like this was a mistake and that feeling will prove itself to be true throughout your visit. From the broken elevators to the dirty rooms to the panhandlers in the lobby, this place misses at every opportunity. If you have the coin, I would highly recommend staying at the four seasons across the parking lot. If you don’t, then you’re better off across the river at the casino queen in east St. Louis… which if you know anything about East St. Louis really tells you how crappy this place has gotten.

Really Disappointed

The staff are amazing, butttttt the hotel needs some updating and is need of some major repairs. The tub diverter in our shower was broke, so we had water coming out of spigot and shower head. The couch was hard as a rock and the 2 chairs were broken. The ceiling in shower is peeling. The room is so dark. The lighting in bathroom is horrendous, trying to put makeup on was a real challenge. Hair dryer did not work. Sink in the living room area was clogged. TV channels kept scrambling, made really hard to watch football. The upside was the skywalk (smells like sewer) to get to casino and restaurants and the tunnel at the casino to walk to the Dome. Was not worth the amount we paid to stay

Everything was good similar to a resort stay. Walking distance to the arch. Connected to the casino and resturants. The staff were polite and professional! I read reviews after I booked and was hesitant about keeping the reservation. After my stay im glad i kept it everything about my stay was comfortable.
