From the time you open the front door and step in you are treated in a special way…that is a very positive way. Both Dean and Paul are very attentive and make you feel special. The room was great and the supper and breakfast were 1st rate. Pitlochry is a nice town but Birchwood Pitlochry makes it better! Bravo Dean & Paul!

It is difficult to describe in few words how wonderful this little hotel is! The generous and kind owners have obviously put their heart and soul into the hotel providing the best service possible to their guests. Paul and Dean went above and beyond giving us the best experience of their hotel and Pitlochry. Their attention to detail is incredible, from amenities in the room, gorgeous toiletries and a special 'pantry' as well as providing superb gluten free and vegetarian alternatives at breakfast I have no hesitation in saying this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in!

Dean and Paul were exceptional hosts, and within minutes after our arrival it felt like we were visiting with old friends. It truly was one of the warmest and friendliest environments I have ever experienced at a boutique hotel. Paul’s skills as a chef were amazing, as well! The breakfasts were superb and the lone dinner eaten at the hotel was also memorably delicious. Clean rooms, super staff and a great location for exploring central Scotland, the Birchwood Pitlochry checks all these boxes multiple times! I will stay here again!!!

We had such a lovely stay at Birchwood Pitlochry and felt welcome from the very first moment. The hosts Dean and Paul were incredibly attentive, fun to chat with, and really went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The house is beautiful, super clean, and full of cozy touches and lovely decorations. You can really see the attention to detail, both inside and in the beautiful garden surroundings. Our room was warm, comfy, and perfect for relaxing. We also really enjoyed the lovely bar/lounge area. The food was also amazing — great breakfasts and suppers, delicious drinks, and snacks always available. We were very well looked after the entire stay. If you’re looking for a cozy Scottish stay in a lovely town, we’d absolutely recommend this place and would happily come back again. Thanks again Dean and Paul!

What was only supposed to to be a stopover on our way to Edinburgh became a highlight of the trip, all thanks to Paul and Dean’s excellent service, food (both dinner and breakfast was excellent!) and attention to details! I can hardly describe what a wonderful experience this hotel was. An exceptionally beautiful old Victorian house, with a lovely, comfortable and easily accessible garden. There is also a small private woodland, with little hidden corners and places to sit. You would have to search long and hard to find staff as helpful, welcoming and accommodating as these. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with complimentary coffee and a wide selection of snacks. The food was fantastic and clearly prepared with great care and love. This is a place that is run from the heart, with an unmistakable ability to understand and accommodate your wishes. Without a doubt, the best and most relaxing hotel of our entire trip. My warmest recommendations.

My husband and I recently spent three wonderful nights at Birchwood in Pitlochry, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel itself is a charming old property full of character, run by two incredibly friendly hosts. One seemed to take care of most of the guest-facing side of things, while the other worked his magic in the kitchen. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was absolutely superb. Rather than offering an overwhelming buffet, they focused on a small selection of high-quality items, and everything was delicious. As board game enthusiasts, we were especially delighted to discover that one of the lounges had been turned into a cosy library complete with a proper gaming table. It's such a rare thing to find in a hotel, and we spent some very happy hours there. Another lovely touch was the complimentary snacks and sweets available around the hotel. There always seemed to be little treats waiting to be discovered, including some homemade caramel popcorn that was dangerously addictive! What really stood out was the attention to detail and the genuine care shown by the hosts. Birchwood felt welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated in a way that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would wholeheartedly recommend Birchwood to anyone visiting Pitlochry.

Top notch customer service both in hospitality and restaurant, I don't know what they are rated but it felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel and restaurant for sure! They really want to make sure everything is comfortable for you. I would definitely recommend staying here. Pitlochry town is really adorable too and it's within easy walking distance from the hotel.
