Clean, "retro without intention", friendly and helpful staff, and my second stay.
I think the shuttle should run every hour when there are flights coming in late at the airport. I messaged two days before to say might flight would have me at the shuttle pick up by about 1:40 AM. No response. I raced to the spot hoping, and nothing, tired, hungry, out in the cold calling numbers that did not answer with a lot of luggage.
Finally, the shuttle drivers to all the other hotels who have figured out people still arrive from 1:30 AM to 3:00 AM told me that the Holiday Inn Scandic driver takes a break from 1:30 to 3:30 AM.
I wish they would have confirmed this by responding to my message.
The things I liked, the black out curtains were pretty good and the cleaners were not "bang bang, we like to wake everyone up" types. It is always fascinating that some places have not taught all of the staff that people are paying to sleep, not hear them bang around the neighboring rooms. It was nice to be able to get some solid sleep.
They also had a nice safe place to store luggage after check out.
There was also a mini fridge in the room and the shower had perfect water pressure and was actual hot water.
Oh also, it would be great if they made the path from the shuttle to the check in counter more suitcase roller friendly, it has a bunch of materials that don't let the suitcases roll well. But again, minor things and I would happily stay again.
