Stopped over on my way travelling back home. Pub was busy on this Friday night, but staff were on hand to welcome me. Very friendly manner and most helpful. As I arrived a little later than planned, I just made it in time to get my food order in, which again the staff were very helpful to assist. I had their steak and ale pie, which was very good and I would certainly recommend this. I overheard a conversation while eating that the person who cooked the food doesn't like to call himself a chef as he is not professionally trained. Well all I can say is I really enjoyed it (and his breakfast the next morning). My room was spot on. I had driven almost 350 miles that day, so needed a bed that was comfortable and I again I wasn't disappointed. While I could hear the noise from the bar below, that was fine. After all its a pub and that's why earplugs were invented. I slept really well. All in all, would I stay again? Yes. Would I recommend this to other? Most certainly. Thank you folks at The Countryman's Inn.

Lovely spacious stay at this pub for my family, loved the little touches.. fresh milk in the room, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Large comfy beds. Staff were very friendly, and we had dinner here too which was delicious and well priced. Only thing that let it down were the light curtains giving us an early wake up, a black out blind would be a perfect addition! Well located for Forbidden Corner and Druids Temple.

A small country pub with accommodation in a well kept village just south of Richmond N Yorks. Not a noisy pub, easy parking comfortable room, ensuite bathroom, good evening menu. Nice cooked breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
