Very friendly, clean and well appointed room and bathroom clean and modern. Although over a pub no noise and the pub serves nice food with superb friendly staff. The only reason not 5/5 is that last time we stayed (3 years ago) a hot cooked breakfast was served whereas this time a self-serve continental breakfast. Although this was done well with fresh bread, fruit, cheese/ham, cereals, choice of milks and croissants, and a kettle to make pots of coffee it would be improved by extra crockery/cutlery, and, although ample supplies to make a fresh coffee pot, there was no where to empty a used pot/ no spares (without using a clean pot that could be for other guests). So some minor improvements - a tray with spare crockery/cutlery/coffee pots/napkins & a bin would help improve the self serve experience. That being said don’t be put off booking. Times are tough in hospitality and in a remote rural location a novel answer to getting a chef in for few guests in a smaller establishment. We would visit again and Ewhurst a peaceful pretty location. Thank you to the staff team.
