Clean and quiet, it was very nice and had everything we wanted. However, it was hard to find staff. There was never anyone in the office when we checked. Other than that, it was great.

Older motel, but clean. Having Roku tv was nice. Pretty basic - bring your own soap, because there was no soap or shampoo. No window screen on the 2nd floor room, so not recommended for kids.

We had a room for 2 adults and four kids they only gave us two sets of towels, but they brought us up more right away. No HVAC, heating was adequate but old. No ventilation in bathroom. Facilities were 1950’s. Only two chairs at table, no other chairs in room. Decor cute but not needed.

The website says it is open 24hrs. I showed up at 845pm. The lobby was unlocked, open sign on, but no one was there. I rang the desk bell and called 3 times withno lick of finding anyone. Had to run to walmart just to go to the bathroom. Now Im left wondering if someone will show up eventually or if Im going to have to sleep in my car.

Manager where???

The room is great, other than the paper thin walls. Babies crying and people fighting all night. Check in wasn't easy.... no one was there. There was a sign asking us to call but it only rang in the lobby. Theres a bell but no one there to hear it. Someone came in after us to check in and we told him there was no one there, he went banging on doors until a manager finally came to check us in.. we nearly left because thats such a red flag.

Sketchy motel stay

As we approach the hotel, we noticed a woman out front in her short robe, letting her dogs defecate on the front lawn. Pulling into the driveway, we noticed the front lobby area under construction and visibly being lived in by a family with several dogs. There were numerous units with trash piled outside the doors. Most of the street facing units were being occupied by people who live there full-time, as they had their personal effects outside of the rooms. There were people sleeping in chairs in the parking lot of the hotel. The front office staff quite a while to come and meet us at the front desk. When she did come to the front desk, she never asked for any confirmation of identity leaving us to wonder if anybody’s identity is checked at this motel.

Terrible - listen to the reviews

It was very dirty! Not vacuumed, hair on the beds and in the bathroom, crumbs in the "kitchenette". Which shouldn't even be called a kitchenette because it was only plasticware, a coffee maker, a mini fridge, and cups. It was so unsafe - exposed wires! In several places. The lamp was posed in by an old extension cord. The bathroom door didn't lock, the bathroom sink was actually a kitchen sinkwhich is odd. The parking lot was so dirty, with people smoking five feet from the doors, and people parked on the grass. The only nice things are that there were 4 beds and the house keeper gave the kids some bubble and coloring books. Definitely the top worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I would never recommend it.

The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating, she upgraded the room at no extra cost. The motel itself isn’t that great, it’s a little dingy and also might have a flea problem.

It was an older property that hasn’t been updated in a long time. It was quite run down and we found a cockroach in our room. There was a hole in the ceiling covered by a light plate. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Front desk staff (pretty sure they were the owners) were super warm and friendly. Easy check in and out. Stayed in room 45. Very clean room. Bed was surprisingly comfy. Comfortable room overall. Good size. The ceiling fan was an added bonus. If you are someone sensitive to road noise, you may be bothered here since it is right on the main drag. I found it perfectly fine myself. Good location with easy access to tons of services. Ocean view from the room. Obscured but there. Great sea breeze coming up through the window. Fridge and microwave. Will definitely stay again, no hesitation.

Okay place to stay.

Our stay at the Newport Bay Motel was pleasant, and Maria was a good host. We were fortunate to have one of the better rooms, larger, quieter, with a recently remodeled bathroom. The motel was a bit rundown, and has definitely seen better days. It's not on the Bay as you might think. It's on the highway. We were fortunate to be in a room away from the front, and all the traffic noise. The price was reasonable, and the amenities were minimal. You could do worse.

The location was great. Walking distance to beach and downtown. Restaurants nearby. We did find a couple of cockroaches in the sink and hair everywhere. Beds were comfortable but no a/c, just a fan.
