Good and bad. Let’s get to the good stuff first. Airport shuttle to/from GVA was convenient although the person at reception stressed that Swiss Air and Brussels Airlines crew had priority, so as not to get our hopes up that we would be able to get a shuttle back to the airport. Fortunately turned out to not be a problem. Room was clean and bed was comfortable enough. Now for the bad. As a Hotels.com gold member, I research hotels and perks before I book. The perks for this hotel included a free drink (non-alcoholic), free airport shuttle, early check-in, if available, and a free room upgrade, if available. I do realize the latter two perks are only if available. The reception person was adamant that I had to pay 65CHF if I wanted to check-in early. He didn’t even entertain the idea of a free room upgrade. He said the only gold member perk required of them was the free beverage. I had to contact Hotels.com to have their representative call him directly and he STILL wouldn’t allow me to check-in early nor give me a room upgrade. The issue is that both options were available, but they didn’t want to allow me either without paying more. If he said they weren’t available, then that would’ve been a different story. This certainly left a bad taste for me and I will not stay here again. Also, windows and blinds didn’t open and the bathroom door wouldn’t slide over for privacy. There are other airport hotels near GVA to choose from. Do yourself a favor and pick a different one.
