Good, but bathroom smells.

Centrally located which is great, but the property is old. The toilet smelled really bad. Sewerage system is also old which I guess means the poo smell comes up through the plumbing. Service was good and they let us leave our bags after check in so we could explore the city.

Amazing hotel...close to all the must sees in Venice....but far enough away to feel quaint...hotel has been in the same family for generations...close to resturants...would definitely recommend...if you're planning a trip to Venice.

Small family run hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful with eating/activity suggestions. Great location - close to restaurants and vaporetto stop. Close enough to San Marco, but without the crowds. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable, shower worked well, as did the air conditioner. Hotel has a lift, which is a bonus in Venice. Would recommend.

A lovely family run hotel, right in the heart of Venice but still maintaining a small and intimate feel. The breakfast is great, beds are comfy and the AC is a lifesaver, particularly in the summer. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone for either short or long term stays.

It’s a small old boutique type of hotel owned by a family. The staff are the owners and they are delightful.. their recommendations were excellent. We had such a lovely time. The rooms are simple but very clean. The shower works very well with great water pressure and the air conditioner was excellent.

Excelente lugar. Lo atiende directamente el dueño, en esta ocasión fue Gabrielle. Una atención fabulosa. Llegas a la parada de Zaccaria y estás a 5 minutos a pie en el hotel. El hotel está amplio y bien cuidado. La atención de Gabriel fue excelente y nos orientó en todo momento. Ubicación no podría ser mejor. A unos 5 minutos andando a la plaza San Marcos, realmente está a espaldas de la plaza y la zona con varios restaurantes económicos. Los souvenirs conviene comprarlos a unas cuadras rumbo a la plaza, es lo más barato que encontré. Muy recomendable! No se arrepentirán

Gem of a hotel near San Marco

Hotel Fontana is a gem run by 2 cousins who understand customer service. You can not ask for a better location and the breakfast, which you have to buy, is well worth the €11 charged. And they have an elevator that works! I expect a hotel in Venice to be a bit dated, it's part of the charm, but my parents stayed in a room that smelt bad. Not sure what it was but we had to keep the windows open at all times. If they get that fixed, 10/10.
