I really enjoyed most aspects of this hotel. The location is great; it’s close to a lot of top attractions and is near public transportation to access other attractions. The decor is a little old school, but with a lot of fun touches. The AC works really well on hot days and the snacks in the lobby (and the cat) are nice, unique touches.
However, the hotel asks you to leave the key at the front desk before you leave the hotel and it feels very unsecure. You can come back and ask for any key and they’ll just give it to you. No one checks to make sure you’re getting the key to the right room, so if someone really wanted to ask for your key and steal your stuff they could. Also, if you are trying to retrieve your key when a lot of people are checking in or out, it could take upwards of ten minutes to get the key back. It’s a truly horrible system and might prevent me from staying here in the future. Also, the only reason they have this system is because they attach big tassels to the key cards, which is not even necessary. So this cumbersome, unsafe system just exists because of an aesthetic choice with the keys.
