Our stay at Hidden Jewel Boutique was nothing but amazing!!! My mom and I came to San Pedro for her birthday and we had a blast. The staff was so attentive from the house keepers, to the bartenders, front desk staff, waiters/ waitresses and the grounds keepers. Everyone was so kind and informative anytime we had questions. They treated us like we were family and the food was delicious at the Tropical Escape Restaurant, on the hotel premises. It was our first time in Belize and we are already planning another vacation to come back!!! Hidden Jewel Boutique Hotel definitely receives a 5 out of 5 from us!!!

Decent spot

Property is okay. It’s quite far north on the island which means it’s quieter (good) but involves a long drive on poor roads. Note that it’s fairly buggy in the area. Staff try hard and are pleasant. It’s a solid 3 star hotel. I would definitely rather stay at hidden jewel than close to San Pedro.

This property was beautiful. The staff gave lots of good tips on where to go and what to do. GREAT food at the restaurant and LOTS of drink options at the bar. Has well working ac and multiple fans in the room to stay cool.

Lovely Chill Relaxing BeachFront!

Place is beautiful, well appointed, charming w thatched roof and large open living room. we had to arrive late at night and they accommodated us wonderfully. We had 2 bedroom beachfront with patio. AC and WiFi great, full kitchen, super HOT water in shower and sinks.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. We were lucky enough to be in bungalow 2 which has ocean views from the bed and a gorgeous porch area that allowed us to take in the ocean breeze any time of the day. The mosquitoes will attack you heading into the hotel though so be prepared. Only con is this isn’t an adult only hotel. It was peaceful most of our days there but a large family came on our last 2 days and the vibes just weren’t the same.

The absolute best part of the resort is its solitude and amazing service at the adjoining restaurant. All the guys at Tropical Escape are friendly and attentive and serve up awesome drinks! The restaurant had the best food on the island. Thank you, Chef! The room itself is super cute and functional. I loved the decor and water cooler. The kitchen is also nicely stocked. Great bathroom, too. The gardeners work all day in the heat making the grounds and beach look just lovely. What a beautiful oasis around the pool. We really loved hanging out in the pool. We cleaned the bugs out ourselves one day and requested chemicals when it appeared cloudy, but otherwise it was fine. Snorkeled out front and saw a shark! The sargassum is no joke. The smell wafts through the hotel area and permeates the room sometimes. It’s a shame. The hotel workers do what they can to mitigate it, but chances are, you will smell rotten eggs/sewage. The whole island is affected. Aside from the odor, the one major disappointment was the unexpected “resort fee.” Nowhere in Expedia did I see this fee mentioned. It definitely was not explained to us at check in. So while we enjoyed ourselves, that was an unexpected charge at the end of our stay. Take bug spray and use it. My daughter was eaten alive. My husband and I faired better than she did. It’s a healthy drive to the resort. Be sure to get a new golf cart with shocks! Lastly, the locals love the place and pop in to eat all the time.

Not Our Favorite

We wanted to like this property, but my partner and I agreed that we would not stay here again. Staff were very friendly, but we didn’t like the overall accommodations. Sargassum was bad which is out of their control, but there was construction at the beachfront that I could not exactly figure out what they were doing. The back seating area of our cabana was adjacent to the restaurant, so I felt it didn’t give adequate privacy. Also, cushions on the outdoor furniture were worn and uncomfortable. Pool area was ok, but we prefer an adult only hotel to avoid screaming kids. I blame myself for this because I should have selected an adult only hotel. During our stay, one of the properties on the entrance road was burning the lot for clearing two of the nights, so there was a heavy smoke smell. We had a three night stay and our room was never cleaned, but our towels were changed . The hotel is at the northern end of the Ambergris Caye, so the area is nice if you want to be out of the hectic main town.

working on beach, which is a good thing, alot going on. the room that we had was near the dining, so no outside privacy. Was not really impressed that people from other resorts could use the pool if they ordered drinks or food. The staff was the best part of the whole experience. They were so friendly, hardworking, knowledgeable, so very nice. The food was very good

A true hidden jewel

This is truly a hidden jewel and will be back with the entire family. The bar and restaurant on site was amazing and had great selection and specials you really didn’t have to go anywhere else to eat and drink. The staff was amazing and very accommodating.

Best hotel stay I ever had

It was probably the best hotel experience I ever had and I have travelled several times. Heyda before the trip went above and beyond to assist me in any way possible to prepare for my trip. The room and hotel is just stunning. The restaurant had amazing food. And the best part is probably the staff. They were so kind and courteous. I would recommend anyone staying in San Pedro to go to this hotel.

Sitting either on my little deck or on a lounge chair by the beach having my morning cup of tea was bliss! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! This property had caught my attention some time ago but previous reviews of the bumpy road had given me second thoughts, that's subjective, if this hotel is available, book it and you won't be disappointed. All the staff are so very welcoming, Tanica, Chris to mention a few, the drinks are out of this world and the accommodation perfect, I loved listening to the rain on the thatched roof. I had a massage in my room and genuinely enjoyed hanging out around the beach and pool.
