This was a booking for my mother-in-law. Originally booked for 2 nights we had to extend her stay by one night due to a flight cancellation caused by an airline strike. What an excellent hotel! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, wonderful location right inside the city gates to the Old City, only steps from wonderful restaurants and shopping. There are amazing sights just blocks from the hotel as well like the Maiden Tower. Stay here if you can!

Stay in an old palace like hotel

It is a historical building converted to a hotel, right at the entrance to the old city. Even the tour guides bring their guests to show historical things. Impressed how the hotel is showcasing historical artifacts. Great place to walk around. Spacious rooms and free sauna.

Shah palace hotel i Baku Azerbaijan is a true joy to be in , we were with couple of friends there stayed 5 days and every day was more fun then the previous one. The day starts with an AMAZING breakfast with wonderful kitchen staff and Breakfast manager. there us a wonderful SPA, AND GYM over all its a 10 out of 10 .

Ideal location just inside the walls of the Old City in Baku. Check in was fast and efficient. I was upgraded to a superior room and the room was excellent. The lobby area is very impressive and very comfortable. The breakfast room/dining area is on the top floor and has great views of the city. Unfortunately the breakfast/dining room is dated and needs modernisation. Breakfast was good, with a good choice of hot and cold food. The most disappointing part of the stay were the staff; nobody was unfriendly or rude but the staff seemed to be unmotivated and bored. I had to ask three times for a new kettle to be brought to my room, for example. I would definitely recommend staying here for the location, comfortable rooms and for the impressive lobby.
