6/10 Good

Fairly comfortable for sleeping and washing - no table or desk to work from so that wasn't ideal but it may be you can select a room with these features.
Garry, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Staff were friendly and willing to help with issues within the room. The first room i was giving the air conditioning did nkt work and the walls were dirty i was then placed in a different room which was still dirty there was a dead fly on the wall and coffee spillage on the walls and floor.

It was alright

Thw room was alroght the floor under the bed was disgusting, the wall paper was ripped off. There was no bath plug so we had to use clothing so we could have a bath. Bathroom mirror light did not work. Service was ok got what we asked for quickly.

Okay

Room just basic, comfortable but cleanliness was not there, bathroom looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned. Window handle was broken so I couldn’t open in the morning to get some air. Other than that staff were friendly and it was an ok stay for the night.

If it’s cheap, then ok for a night

Set in impressive grounds this hotel is just accessible for a one night stay. It’s obvious the hotel itself is run on a shoe string budget with some unacceptable issues. One is a lot of ants in the bathroom, and when showed to a member of staff they weren’t interested. The other was the TV had no remote or antenna cable, these were supplied on request! But WHY? Annoyingly with better management I think this could be a great hotel, security to the car parks were excellent and access to the local town centre is achievable on foot. Everything said it was the cheapest hotel I could find in the area on my particular date, so I guess that has to be taken into account.

2/10 Poor

Room was badly maintained, damaged bathroom doors curtains tv wasnt working due to no signal room i requested was a double bed. But was given two single beds put together spoke to reception about the issues i raised and i was told housekeeping was going to check the room but all was done was the changed bin and cleaned towel. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thanks

We booked in very late after a cancelled flight and were, understandably a little stressed. The two gentlemen on reception were very considerate and helpful. They were smiling and polite. There was a big wedding in progress but it finished at midnight and was no problem - in fact lovely to see. The manager on reception showed us to our rooms and waited to see us settled in, immediately replacing a key which did not work. They provided us with phone numbers for taxi companies for the next morning to the airport and, when the initial taxi firm failed to arrive at 6am, they were still on duty and gave another number and the taxi arrived in minutes.

2/10 Poor

Very disappointing.

Arrived at the beautiful building that is Baylis House only to be told is a restaurant now and the hotel is at the side. After trapsing round the building we found the entrance to the hotel. Our rooms were in yet another building across a courtyard. Once we got to the building with the rooms, which was shared with wedding venues, we were disappointed. The building had dirty floors, stairs had stains, generally had the feel of an unkempt hostel. Our key card didnt work so 2 trips back to the reception building. Were offered another room but that had damp so back to original room once keycard lock was fixed. Rooms are tired too. Our room had a missing door on the wardrobe. The shower was just above a trickle. Carpet was not clean. Wore slipper throughout our stay. There was thumping music till late from the wedding venues. Didnt sleep till after midnight. Overall, the pictures are misleading. The rooms are in a very very tired, unloved and uncared for block. Needs a decent makeover and regular cleaning as it hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner, mop of polish in ages. Furniture in communal areas is dire. We were only booked for one night thank goodness.

2/10 Poor

Parking was easy during the day but after getting back from a day out we had to drive around to find a space due to a function at the adjacent venue The whole hotel including reception, reception toilets, bedrooms, corridors, bathrooms were dated and disgusting. There was work going on around the hotel. The receptionists were friendly and helpful though.

Amazing old heritage buildings in need of TLC

Room was clean the bathroom was out dated shower mixer was half off the wall, no tap for the bath, plenty off parking. Staff were friendly The partial refurbished room had clearly be done by a diy enthusiast
