Attractive, quiet, well located. Terrific service

This is one of the nicest boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. Refreshing, calm, & quiet with modern decor. Located near downtown. Extremely helpful staff — consistently. Best coffee I’ve ever had in a hotel, and available fresh 24/7. They even have a quiet public area to veg in, and offer wine & treats in the afternoon. I definitely would stay there again.

Spacious fresh room and great location

We stayed here for two nights and very happy with our stay. The room was fresh, spacious and tastefully decorated, and the staffs were friendly and helpful. It’s located right by the city center, and we could find many nice cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. The water pipe? drainage? sound was rather loud when guests above our room was using shower, but otherwise everything was great! We would gladly stay here again.

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, it was fantastic!! I stayed with my 2 teens (we know they can be ahem a challenge to delight) and they are raving too! The General Kyoto Shijo is the best hotel! This is my second time staying there and it did not disappoint. It is very clean, the staff is friendly and it is close to Nishiki market and lots of other amazing sites in Kyoto.

Cute Boutique Hotel

We only stayed here for 1 night but it was a pleasure. The staff is so nice and wonderful. They had our room ready as soon as we got here well before check in time. They also honored our “VIP” status and gave us free breakfast for 2. Additionally, the lounge offers free snacks and beverages throughout the day, including alcohol. Overall, we loved it. I highly recommend
