We wanted to like the Laguna Surf, but we had some issues. First, half the units face the street, not the ocean. The ad is carefully worded to imply units are ocean view, but many are not. The street (PCH) is too noisy to leave the doors open at night. Next, the A/C in our unit was installed incorrectly, and leaked condensation water all over the couch. It took 2 days to get it resolved. The place was full, so we could not change rooms. Next, the umbrellas in the shared patio area didn't work, making the tables a lot less useful. On the plus side, the location is great, the beach access is awesome, and the complex has a laundry room, which doesn't seem to be mentioned in the ads.

This Timeshare Project is not a Hotel, and it is under partial construction. No bellman, and no maid service. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and the plumbing was stuck on the hottest level in the shower. Avoid this place like the plague!

I thought I was booking a hotel, but instead it was a time share. I loved that it was like a fully furnished apartment with 2 bathrooms. It had a little musty smell, counters and kitchen were clean, bedroom too. We arrived around 6:15PM and check in was a little tricky.

The property was next to the ocean but my room was on busy pch so my experience was high traffic. If I had an ocean facing room my experience would have been entirely different. The furnishings were terribly old and dated. This property is a timeshare so there is no one to greet you after five pm. I was unaware of this so my check in after five was difficult. The staff was less than friendly. But the location was marvelous and the parking was included. So for this price and location it’s a reasonable value. Try to get an ocean view room though. Otherwise, there is really no point IMO.

simple easy stay for a couple

Location is great, walking distance to main beach and lots of shops and eats... hotel has steps that lead right onto its own beach area... has a private patio with tables overlooking the beach as well... parking was included which was nice, nice kitchen and shower, comfy bed, private patio off of the room, I had unit 303 which had a street view, but I could see a little ocean from the bedroom... however this unit wasn't listed as an ocean view... overall it was nice, nothing fancy, but also not dirty or dingy, I would stay here again... good value.. bed was comfy... thank you!
