Greta stay at Galosol

Great location by the ocean with access to several pools and the sauna and steam rooms with ocean views was amazing. The room was very spacious, bigger than we expected and the breakfast offered a wide selection. The staff were also friendly. There are a few restaurants within walking distance although I would recommend having a car to explore further

A wonderful end to my time in Madeira. The hotel was stunning and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. My room was one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed out of all my various trips - extremely clean, well ventilated, warm and cosy and as someone who is passionate about interior styling, I really appreciated the minimalist design. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant was good and the close proximity to local restaurants and shops was a bonus too. Already dreaming about my next stay here 😍

Très bien

Grand complexe hôtelier un peu impersonnel avec de très bons équipements. Grande chambre, très confortable avec balcon donnant sur l’océan. Seul bémol le sauna qu’il faut réserver et la piscine intérieure qu’il faut évacuer à 18 heures pour cause de cours collectifs. Très bon petit déjeuner.

The breakfast was fresh, with a variety of choice. The bedroom was nice clean and spacious with a view that was amazing to watch the sunrise each morning from the balcony. The facilities were good, the bus services 155 into town always punctual and again the journey to Funchal had amazing ocean and hilltop views, with winding roads offering a nice sceneric veiws. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.

Parking situation is dire. Hotel in good shape, rooms v comfortable. Information a bit chaotic like it’s breakfast options. Location is off the beaten track. Was not overally impressed but absolutely had some high points. Only my opinion. Looked popular.

Één van de beste

Het is een gelegenheid met veel faciliteiten Goede spa goede gym ook binnen zwembad Uitstekend ontbijt. Mensen spreken allen goed Engels. Zoet er allemaal goed uit. Minpuntje zijn de stoelen op de kamers. Vind ik niet echt goed of fijn zitten. Parkeren is beschikbaar op straat. Wel goes betaalbaar. OV stopt praktisch voor de deur. Geschikt voor luie toeristen maar ook actieve wandelaars of ondernemende mensen.

Positive: the location of the hotel is very good. There were lots of good restaurants and small supermarkets within 300 m. The highway was relatively easy to reach, so you could easily go on excursions anywhere. Funchal was a good 10 minutes away by car. The room was very clean with a fantastic sea view (3rd floor). The breakfast buffet was OK but nothing more, although at first glance it looked like more. The swimming area in the hotel bay, where there is also a diving center, was fantastic. What we didn't like: When we were greeted and in the restaurant, we didn't get the impression that the guest was the main focus. There was also no welcome in our booked suite, apart from carelessly placed bottles of water and wine with price tags attached. Why the architect built an open bathroom without a door will remain his secret. The fitness room was too small and very full of equipment, but the service was very good. The sauna area is completely careless, with no windows and no outdoor area. The outdoor pool is hardly used because the water is much colder than the Atlantic! There were only six hotel parking spaces, although people on Madeira tend to get around by car. You had to look for a parking space (for a fee) in the immediate vicinity, but that worked out quite well.

NO PARKING NO PARKING NO PARKING The hotel overall is beautiful, relaxing and if you are looking to spend days inside the hotel maybe it is worth it. To be honest, I regret staying here because of the parking and food. If you go to madeira you are on adventure mode, like hiking, walking, and driving a lot. You just want to arrive relax and rest, not having to stress about finding parking knowing what you paid for the stay. I was lucky enough to find almost every day (keep in mind it was low season), but I parked in a random spot twice and hoped the car wouldn't get towed. The food is not the best, it is better to go to a local restaurant to eat. Breakfast looks like they used some of the food from last night. The omelette station was worth it. Coffee is an absolute no (if you’re a serious coffee lover.)
