Definitely has potential to be five star. Very clean, beautifully restored and maintained and felt safe and secure. Bed was nicely appointed and comfortable. Temperature easily and well maintained. I was reluctant to use a hotel with no on site personnel. It was a great experience. Absolutely better than the cursory front desk personnel. Kept us up to date on any info and instantly responded to one brief inquiry. Kitchenette sparse with no condiments like salt and pepper, drying or hand towels, towels, paper towels, glasses, knives. There was plenty of coffee and sweetener and creamer. We were in room 209, a king premier suite, and the WiFi and internet were terrible. If you need to work you will want to see if a different room works better. Though there is no onsite parking there was plenty of free parking nearby with no issues. Definitely would stay again.

Hidden gem in Lake City

My sister lives in Lake City, and we always had forgotten about this place. But, this time we remembered and tried it, and it was a super cool place. Very different layout with old school charm, great bed, great bathroom, and the kitchenette was super convenient also. Will definitely go back.

Second time just as charming as the first

Second time staying here and second time reviewing. This hotel is such a bargain. We did show up on a Sunday night, however. The town is kind of closed up on Sunday nights, so if you planned on enjoying a nice dinner in town, don’t stay on a Sunday night.

Didn’t feel comfortable with the area where the hotel was located. Then we find out you need a code to get in the lobby! A code to get in your room. And by the way, there is NO staff on site!!!! How do you run a hotel like that and who would stay there. Tried getting my money back but Expedia couldn’t get a response! No wonder, NO STAFF ON SITE! Super disappointed. Do NOT be fooled by the pictures. Worst hotel decision I ever made. To Expedia: take “The Blanche” off your list of hotels in Lake City FL!

A disappointing stay

The Blanche is a old hotel in name only it's a shell of an historic building that was gutted. The interior is modern furnishings attempting to look historic. If you like historic, old architecture and furnishings this ain't it. In addition, we specifically requested a queen bed but on arrival found a old fashioned uncomfortable double bed. There's no representative on site just a phone/text number for contact. The place is very sterile and clean but definitely not our idea of a historic or comfortable stay.
