8/10 Very good

This hotel was fine for an overnight stay while on the road. This older property has been given a second chance by a friendly and caring staff. Room was clean, a/c worked, there’s coffee in the lobby in the morning, and staff are super friendly. Parking lot is secured by a gate after 10pm. Fine with me! I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was clean, staff very friendly….and priced fairly! My only complaint was the WiFi didn’t work that well from my room.

I'll be back!

Staying here is like going to see your grandma if your grandma was a great gardener and had a pond next to the pool. The staff is super friendly. The other guests are too. Sitting in the central courtyard, you're serenaded by bird songs and children's voices. The WiFi could be stronger, but that's what gets you into the central courtyard, so I was grateful for that too.

Courteous Staff and Clean Room

The staff is courteous and my room was clean. The only disappointment was my mattress was a little too soft for me

6/10 Good

Quiet room in back. Never got TV to work. We got back late after NMSU game and gates were closed to access back rooms. Was never informed at check in that we had to roll them back ourselves to let car in.

The person at the desk when we arrived was nice but the person when we left was a bit rude. The rooms were a bit rundown but, were good size. Having a stove and refrigerator was a plus.

My favorite part about this property was how safe it was. Checking in you can see all the cameras were working and monitoring the building. There was also security walking around even when I was leaving at 5 am. Lastly they have a gate to close in the guest cars which was a huge relief! The patio is also very cute with a pool, grills and a gondola with chairs to just sit and enjoy.

4/10 Fair

Novel in the 60’s the owners are working hard to restore its hotel usefulness. The big chili is worth a look as architectural art.

2/10 Poor

By the time our confirmation came thru from a terrible Vrbo rental the front office at the Big Chile was closed. We had no place to stay.
