Had my room towards the street... a highway. The apartment came with two pairs of ear plugs, which were desparately needed but not enough against the noise (all through the night)

Very cozy and clean place close to the heart of Boston. The staff is very responsive to any issues that come up (in my case the batteries for the remote were dead). It would've been nice if there was an ice machine in the kitchen area. Other than that the place is very comfortable.

Fine if you’re not fussy

If you’re not too fussy, this place is fine. The location is great and the bed was super comfy. Check in and check out was very easy. My room was very noisy. The window is propped open for the ac vent and the property is on a busy road so the traffic noise is intolerable without ear plugs. Luckily I had some with me. The shared bathroom is OK. It was always free when I needed it but there was a leak from the room above and some of the plaster from the ceiling fell down during my stay. Some of the earlier reviews mention a mouse in the room at night. Thankfully I saw no evidence of mice but I was on the third floor and didn’t bring snacks into the room just in case! I wouldn’t stay here again but it was cheap and served a purpose.

Staying in this hotel like staying at your home

My stay at the Bay Village Hotel in Boston was amazing. To be honest, it was my first experience staying in a self-serving hotel like this. However, everything was good. No one disturbed me, and every time, the hotel was quiet like I was alone in the entire building, and it was convenient.

I was pleasantly surprised how close it was to transportation and how safe it was to walk at night. I took the Logan express to get here and back to the airport. Best decision.

Great location, OK room, rough bathroom situation

The room was OK, bed comfortable. It has in-suite sink, fridge and microwave along with a portable burner and some dishes and cutlery, which was nice to have. The condition was a little rough with patched wall paper and some of the wallpaper peeling at the seams. There are also washers and dryers in the building, which was great. The biggest issue was the shared bathroom. There are two shared bathrooms, one on every other floor. I was on the 4th floor so the nearest full bathroom was down a flight of steps. There was a toilet closet on the 4th floor, but literally just a toilet in a closet (also shared with other rooms on the floor). So each fill bathroom is shared by 8+/- rooms. I didn’t have an issue with sharing the bathroom, but the shower valve wasn't attached well and the style of the valve was difficult to figure out and I was never able to get the water temperature to anything higher than luke warm. The shawer also was leaky and the shower curtain wasnt great so water would overspray onto the floor and it was constantly a little wet and felt a little dirty. Also, the room I was in faced I-90 and the traffic noise was pretty loud which made it difficult to sleep. The portable A/C unit worked well but was also pretty loud. The location was great and very convenient to walk to downtown and the sites of Boston. I was in Boston solo for this trip and it worked fine for me but, I wouldn't bring my wife here.

Very nice place. Plenty of space for me and my girlfriend. Clean and quiet. The hotel is in a good spot of the city, we were able to walk to most places, or take the subway at the nearby station. I thought that the shared bathroom would be an issue, but we had no problem sharing with the other people on our floor, could hardly even tell that anyone else was there with us. Would recommend.

The photos from the website to the live site were totally different. It was really not pleasant. Their communication was excellent. It was such a bad experience that I moved forward with my return trip and I wrote to them to get my money back and they told me no.

The photos of rooms are misleading. It is more like staying in student accommodation. We had a basement room with a very small ensuite. Whilst the room had windows, it didn't feel very secure as it only had a very loosely locked back door out to back yard and bin area. The air conditioning unit fed through one of the windows and was sealed with duct tape. Large TV on wall didn't work. One bed leg had broken off and wallpaper was peeling off. The whole floor was on the slant. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the location was good.

Property itself was good, the reason for the 3 stars is that the maintenance guy randomly showed up to change the carpet knocking on the door and basically barged in helping himself inside the room, while i was indecent inside just coming out of the shower, after specifically told to wait, this happened after i been told that the room is ready for me to check in by the management. A little internal communication between the management and the maintenance guy would've been fantastic.

The property is in two adjacent brownstones facing the Mass Pike. Although the room and bathroom is spotless, the stairway in my half was leaning several inchesnto one side as the building is settling. Although only 2 or 3 blocks from a trendy area, the block itself is a bit creepy at night. Sharing the bathroom was never a problem. The bathtub could use a non skid surface and grab bars. There was not enough space to unroll a yoga mat in my room. Overall, for this fit 67 year old man, a good value when the other hotels available that weekend were all $500 per night.

I thought this was a great value compared to other places in the area. It’s a shared bathroom. But the space was clean and nicely furnished. I was on the 4th floor facing the highway but noise didn’t bother me with the in room AC on. Only suggestion would be a hairdryer and some extra paper towels. It is a narrow crooked staircase up 3 flights. Probably wouldn’t work for a lot of people who need more amenities. But worked great for me.

Good Location Bad Room

This location is not for the business traveler or vacation traveler who wants a comfortable place to stay. First of all, the bathrooms are shared which is an inconvenience for me. The bathroom had a leak and the tile was removed from the floor so you were walking on wood. I tried to see if Premier Suites Bay Village could move my location but they said they could not. I complained about the room and could do nothing for me. This was not a happy stay for me.

I don't recommend this property!

I am rather disappointed in my selection of this property. While it might be a cheaper option for Boston, I will never return to this property. It's apparent they owners did the minimum number of changes to make the property appear updated but only from a distance. Upon closer inspection, the property is in disrepair. The stairs feel and look like they're going to collapse. The paint is terribly poor and the various shades indicate it's randomly used to touch up surfaces that are damaged. The bathroom toilet on the 4th floor isn't properly bolted to the floor and rocks back and fourth. I suspect the door codes aren't changed all that often which makes me wonder how many people have the door code I used. I didn't mind the self check-in process but I'm also unsure if I actually checked in. Then there's the weird case that this property is listed on various sites under different names. This aspect seems fishy. Overall, I will never return to this property and I don't recommend anyone else does either.

Holy Geezus, There was only one full bathroom up on the fourth floor and the tiniest half bath on the first floor because the bathroom on the third floor was out of order. Hope you like stairs.
