This is a very clean, quiet resort with a wonderful staff.

It appeared there was a transition going on as I learned after arrival they had been recently bought by hilton. All swimming pools were closed except one which made it unusually crowded most of the day. The lodge is ooma were small but comfortable. The walls were quite thin and/or the flooring not being carpet caused us to be able to hear our neighbors far into the night even with the additional fan we brought to drown out sound. The restaurant at the lodge was amazing! The concierge was also amazing and gave great recommendations.

1st time staying there but it won't be the last. Everything is super clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and had plenty of activities. Rented a golf cart for a day to explore the property and wasn't disappointed.

Worth it! Reasonable pricing for activities. Great for family get togethers. A rememberable bonding trip made possible by the accommodations provided. We had the deluxe cabin, and even though the fireplace was not working, it was a great experience.

The property was absolutely beautiful, and the rooms seemed newly redone. The value for the money was outstanding. We loved stepping outside and seeing the horses and the beautiful lake. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

8/10 Very good

The property is beautiful. The staff was friendly. The property itself is huge and sprawled out - I would not consider it walking friendly. However, we stayed in a two bedroom cabin which had carpet in it that was really old and gross. There was a heavy mildew/mold smell. There were huge black carpenter ants infesting the cabin. The beds were pretty uncomfortable. The kitchen was very tight and it was difficult to eat in the kitchen and still have room to walk around the table/get into the refrigerator/cook. The cabin was VERY dark. Even with all lights on and all shades open we needed flashlights/battery powered camping lanterns to see anything at all. There is a propane grill at every cabin which is a plus but I wish there were also fire pits to have s'mores/hang out especially since the cabin was so small and tight so hanging out in the cabin was a no go. The property is under a major renovation as it was just recently purchased by Hilton. Only one small unheated outdoor pool is open right now and it got very crowded mid day but was too cold to use in the late afternoon/evening. The indoor pool is closed. The main outdoor pool area by the general store is totally closed (several pools located there). The tennis/pickleball court was totally demolished so they had temporary pickleball set up on the basketball court which could develop a line to use. We would probably go back after the renovations are complete and only with a three bedroom cabin which hopefully is nicer

We had a lovely time during our stay. We booked for a wedding nearby and only spent 2 nights but we want to bring our family and come back for a week! The staff was so friendly and helpful no matter who you spoke to. There is plenty of fun things to do on the property and we can't wait to return and explore it all!

The property was very nice. When we checked in, we weren’t told about any amenities or where anything was, we had to explore ourselves to find everything. Which was ok, we just were confused about a few things. The staff was friendly, a man at the front desk at check-in, David, was a little rude and condescending but wasn’t outright disrespectful. We’d stay there again, just will be avoiding David 😂

We enjoyed our stay. Wendy was very friendly and helpful upon check in. She was attentive in hekping switch rooms due to noisey neighbors as well. Everything was clean. Beds were a little hard and sheets were scratchy. Vending machines were empty, but they kept a large container of ice water at the front lobby to refill our water bottles.

6/10 Good

Nice property, small rooms

The rooms with one queen bed are small and somewhat cramped. They are, however, clean. The tavern on the property has been closed since COVID, and there are no immediate plans to reopen it. For food, go the the general store (breakfast there was limited, but good), or better yet go into Gordonsville.

This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. We stayed at the lodge. It has been completely updated, but the rooms are still very small. The room was functional though. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. There was a microwave to use down the hall. There are no bad views from the lodge as far as I could tell. We woke every morning to a view of the horses grazing in the pasture. There is a restaurant and a bar downstairs, a game room, indoor and outdoor pools, firepit, marina, Store with food to order, sundries, wine and beer, Putt Putt, etc., etc., etc..
