Excellent location and hotel has potential to be good with investment. Check in staff was very good and did a brilliant job. Unfortunately, the room and general decor maintenance was very poor. As a result wouldn’t stay again.

Receptionist was lovely. However the room was had lots of mould in, the toilet seat was fully broken, the wallpaper was coming off the walls and there was stains on sheets and towels.

Absolutely awful, curtains hanging off nails, got moved to a deluxe room , which wasn't any better! Someone trying to get in the room through the night, kicking the door! Did not feel safe at all.Never again! A refund wouldn't go amiss.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit tired but our room was clean and had everything we needed. I couldn't get the TV to work but that wasn't much of a problem. There was a loud whirring noise on and off on the second night woke us up but it did stop eventually. The hotel was reasonable priced and close to the aquatics centre where my son was competing.

We used to always stay at this hotel years ago when visiting our daughter in Liverpool University so wanted to revisit. Great location by Sefton Park and Lark lane. Nice and peaceful room but as previous people have mentioned the hotel needs a little tlc and the restaurant and bar were closed although we were really pleased to hear that they will be reopening next week. On the morning when we were leaving lots of gardening and ground maintenance was taking place in readiness for this which was great to see. Really hope that this place becomes a success again as it used to be a lovely hotel and even a wedding venue. The high ceilings and fountain/statues are impressive and really deserves to be reestablished as the great hotel it used to be so I wish the new owners lots of luck. Staff were friendly and rooms were cleaan- an excellent price and would definitely stay again.

Had to change rooms because booked room was in very poor decorative taste like being in a brothel. Staff very helpful and changed our room. Dog biscuits and hair all over the floor, but warm and comfortable. Furniture could do with updating as well. Will not be staying again.

We arrived in the evening and despite knowing in advance our room was damaged they didn't contact us. They offered alternative rooms, one smelt damp the other of something worse. The rooms didn't have enough beds for the size of our party. We left agreeing a refund. They have failed to give a refund and are avoiding my messages. Avoid at all costs.

Hassan was a great host, provided great service upon arrival and helped out when required too. I stayed here twice in 1 week. Great location, across from Sefton park and easy routes into the city.

Overall very good. Shared a room with 5 adults making it £55 for two nights each. Very friendly manager. Room was clean and had a small selection of teas, coffees and soaps. Codes on the doors with 24/7 access for night outs.

I’d booked an Executive room. Arrived at hotel, no receptionist so rang a mobile number as stated on desk. We were allocated an 'upgrade' so went to floor 1 room 9. After having to barge the door to get in it was absolutely horrendous. Wee in the toilet, horrendous fan noise in bathroom, no curtains, bent brackets where curtain poles were and this was a suite! The wardrobe wouldn't shut and the windows were grim. Rung the guy back as me and wife weren’t happy so they moved us to 'the best room in the hotel' number 22 and can’t believe that this is what £150 gets you in this hotel. Corridor stinks of cigarettes. The floor tiles were all cracked and lose under foot so we left a towel down over it. Wallpaper was ripped in places, curtains half hanging up! By this time we had no option but to accept as we have plans and too late to go else where. Thankfully the bedding was clean but this hotel shouldn’t even be advertised.
