Lots of issues with our stay at Super 8 Wpg West. First off I needed to add another day to the trip and was able to contact hotel direct and found out they raised the cost $48. They stated their rates fluctuate daily, but it was quite obvious that they are treating the natural disaster of Northern Mb as a cash grab. Knowing the evacuees would need a place to stay and rooms would be hard to find, to make more money off the govt and the north. Even though in a state of emergency, hotels aren't allowed to up their rates.
Then with the added cost, the continental breakfast was very limited. 3 days of going there and seeing the hot breakfast items low was disappointing. And our family went at different times each morning and it was the same. I sat and had toast and coffee for 30 min at 830 with my daughter and by 9 I just gave up. I understand if these spots are packed and busy that it can take time to refill but it wasn't busy.
On top of that, for our 3 night stay, the house keeping workers didn't open our door on any of the days. I don't mind when you are staying multiple nights that our room wasn't done up everyday. But at least come and take the garbage out, replace the coffee pods and toilet paper etc. To have to go to the front desk to ask for these supplies as well as a large garbage bag is unacceptable so that we could get rid of our own garbage.
I will say the people working the front were great and attempted to be as helpful as possible. About the only +.
