The only place to stay in Beirut
Beit Toureef is an outstanding guesthouse right in the heart of cool and hip Gemmayze.
It offers a perfect location from which to explore Beirut.
The house has been immaculately restored and the rooms, bright, clean and thoughtfully laid out, are a delight to stay in.
The staff are attentive, friendly and work hard to ensure a pleasant stay is had.
Highly recommended.

Here’s an honest review:
Location 5/5 — Perfectly located in the coolest neighborhood of Beirut
Amenities 4/5 - It’s a cute, heritage building with an external staircase that’s a little tricky when it rains, but charming AF when it’s a beautiful day out. The “lobby” is charming but feels less of a lounging place, and more like a cafeteria. The shower situation is cute in the corner, but not very practical as water ends up pooling in the room after a reasonable shower. Not a huge deal, but not perfect.
Bed 5/5 — Very comfortable king size. Perfect to sleep in after a long day (and my days have been LONG AF!).
Noise 3/5 — Location being what it is, you will hear the neighbourhood (street cars, occasional construction bangs, loud church bells- not the charming kind of church bells). It did bother me a few morning not gonna lie.
Staff 5/5 - Amazing hospitality. No negative comments. Super responsive. Kind. Smiling. All good!
Room 3.5/5 - It’s a cute concept: A micro hotel in a heritage building… so it is what it is. I really like the high ceilings (Heritage building). I didn’t like that there wasn’t much room to unpack properly. A corner closet (or an “armoire” if you want to stay true to form) would’ve been great. Another thing I really didn’t like is the lack of ventilation in the room. How much hours raise the humidity and unless you’re open the windows, books and passports would end up wrinkled.
Cost 5/5 — A lot of value for the money. Definitely a great find.

This is a small luxury hotel. We stayed at their newly added suite of 5 rooms at their second property 1 minute away (walking). The hotel is beautiful and comfortable, and the staff is very attentive. Breakfast is included in the room price, and it is very delicious. The food is all brought in directly from farms, and you can tell from the richer taste of the eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, labne, etc. They use the tannour to make their bread and manakeesh, and the taste is top-notch. The owner approached us at breakfast to ensure that everything was done to our satisfaction and to describe his "project". I would say that he has succeeded admirably. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to Beirut. The street the hotel is on has many restaurants and pubs, and we tried a couple of them (both were very good). It is not far from ABC Achrafieh, a very classy mall within 15 minutes walking. Overall, a terrific experience.

Lovely stay!
I had a lovely stay. Sas was an incredible host with effortless communication and a kind staff. He helped me with taxi from and to the airport and was even waiting for me on the stairs at 3:30am in the middle of the night to welcome me and show me around. I will definitely be back. Thank you, Sas!

Exceptional! You must stay here.
Cannot say enough good things about Beit Toureef! What a beautiful experience. Sass and his staff are exceptionally kind, attentive, and so passionate about this guest house project that gives back to the community. We also loved the rooftop patio and the bartender, Shawki. Beautiful drinks, and food!! Will absolutely recommend to all my friends who visit Beirut, and will definitely be back.

Beit Toureef is more than just a guest house. This gem offers a charming and authentic experience that truly immerses you in Lebanese village traditions. During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Sassine, the amazing founder whose visionary concept brings the essence of Lebanon to the heart of Beirut. The atmosphere at Beit Toureef is delightful, the staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are cozy, and the location, nestled between Gemmayze and Mar Mikhael, is perfect. And let's not forget the well-stocked pantry filled with Lebanese traditional products, adding an extra layer of local charm to the experience. A truly unique and memorable stay!

excellent hotel, one of the best experiences ever!
Best hotel in Beirut, and one of the best hotel experiences ever! :)
pros: -very central location next to all the buzzing life with cafes restaurants and bars;
-excellent quality of shampoo and conditioner and all products which are organic and made in lebanon, promoting villagers' products
-delicious food and breakfast with events on the rooftop sometimes like singing traditional lebanese songs
-owner and staff very welcoming and available for all requests and were always so kind and helpful. I will not forget their kindness: I was sick at the end of our trip and they wrote to me after we had checked out to make sure I was okay, shows how much they care about their clients and how human they are!
-bed was very big and comfortable
-running bath was amazing and so relaxing
cons: room a bit small if you have more than 2 small suitcases since there is no wardrobe, but it was completely fine.
thank you for this amazing stay, we will be back for sure!

Cool Stay in Gemmayze
From the moment I started my journey, the staff were on point. Before even arriving, they checked in to make sure I was on track. Sassine greeted me warmly when I got there and showed me around. Youmna was a star, always ready to assist and making sure I had everything I needed.
One thing that really stood out was how the staff were keen to help with my plans in Lebanon. They often asked if I needed suggestions or assistance with anything I wanted to do or see, making my trip even more memorable.
The room? Super comfy. And the morning? It started perfectly with a delicious Lebanese breakfast on the rooftop.
All in all, if you're thinking of a trip to Beirut, Beit Toureef is a top choice. Great people, a comfy stay, tasty food, and thoughtful assistance with your travel plans.

Felt right at home from the very first moment I stepped into Beit Toureef. That feeling rung through till the end of my stay. I was bummed that I had only booked a one night stay. Beit Toureef is beyond just a lodging or hospitality venture, the business helps support local communities and villages throughout Lebanon. The room was sparkling clean, cozy and comfortable. The staff members were warm and courteous. Special mention to Doha & Kalsa. After checking out, I needed to store my belongings. They were happy to accommodate me, and even offered me freshly pressed juice as I waited. They take Lebanese hospitality to another level. Thank you Sassine for the great conversation. You are doing amazing work here, keep at it! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Beirut; which is sooner than I had expected!😊

The hotel is absolutely not worth the price. Perhaps it's just the location, plus there's no parking and it's in the middle of the city. The owner is also incredibly rude and insincere. I booked at midnight for the same night, but the website mistakenly booked it for the next day. I called the owner, who asked me for $80 more for another available room. I then tried to make up for it with EXPEDIA the next day, but EXPEDIA's customer service team told me the owner wouldn't refund the mistaken payment. Thank you so much; from the photos, I can see it was a pleasure not to have been your guest.
