We had very little to choose from when booking a hotel in the park rapids area. We thought the Rustic Inn would be enough to suit our needs but we were wrong! The second we walked in the door we were greeted with a horrible smell. Our baby walked around bare feet for ten minutes and his feet were BLACK. The sink faucet was falling off, there were holes in the walls from the bathroom door knob, everything was extremely outdated, smelly, and broken. We spent as little time there over our two night stay, as possible. The only thing i was willing to give it credit for was the hot shower and king size bed but that quickly went away when my husband was covered in bed bug bites after leaving! We will not be staying here again!

It seems this property is low budget concern. Outside of building was very dusty dirty! Window screens riped. Room seems to not been used for awhile. First shower taken, the stench of rotten eggs was overwhelming. Not a first good impression! Next day smell was gone. So we dealt with it. Fridge didn't cool, and then the kitchen sink leaked. I was thankful for a place to sleep. But this would not be a good choice in the future for my family.

Great little motel, super clean and comfy beds! If all you need is basic room to sleep and nice clean bathroom with super hot water, very clean. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend.

I was just there overnight to sleep, so I knew with the cheap price there would be some compromises. The heating system was great, and there was enough to watch on tv. Sink was fine as was toilet. My only 2 complaints are the busted up mini blind on the door. I was in room 5. Mine was bad enough that people could see inside. The tub was yucky, but I didn’t need to shower, so I didn’t use it. No funny smells, and clean enough.

The stay was good for the price. The smoke alarm was broken and falling off the ceiling and the door was very hard to lock but other than that the stay was good and the room was very clean.

This place was excellent, very clean throughout with all the basics bed, bathroom, seating, table, fridge, micro and coffee making fully functional. This is not fine dining, more like a favourite diner and priced accordingly. I arrived late, and after snowfall to a warm room with the parking and doorway cleared.

If you ever get a chance to stay in Park Rapids, MN I highly recommend Rustic Inn!! It's like staying in a house not a hotel/ motel. It's like staying in a log cabin.... the room is so comfortable and gorgeous!!!

Before checking in, I received a text that my motel door would be open with a key inside. This concerned me because what if someone else got inside the room in the meantime? When I arrived at the room, it was tough to lock my door. The door did not line up with the door frame very well. I sent a text to the motel to let them know this, but there was no response. In addition, the room was freezing the entire night. The heater did not seem to work well. And, my room was situated near a main road, so I could hear traffic most of the night while I was trying to sleep. The room was clean and affordable enough, but work needs to be done to ensure guest safety and comfort.
