We had an incredible stay here. The property is absolutely beautiful and perfectly appointed, amazing views, great location. Maria was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a lot of useful information. Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer! Definitely would recommend staying at this little hidden gem of a place.

Casa do Santo was a wonderful little guest house hidden away in the pretty village of Provesende, with fantastic views of the vineyards and mountains beyond. It was quiet and relaxing and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent and plentiful. We would highly recommend a stay in this lovely place!

A lovely experience in the Douro Valley

We had an amazing two-night stay. Maria and the staff go above and beyond to share restaurant recommendations and insights on the region. The room was comfortable and the pool a nice treat. There are wineries within walking distance and Pinhao is a short drive away. We highly recommend staying at Casa do Santo because it provides an authentic Douro experience that can't be matched.

Hidden away in the original wine village. Quiet and peaceful a decent drive to Pinhão on windey roads. Maria was incredibly helpful booking dinner and tastings at local quintas for us. Nothing was a problem. Property is new and impeccably clean, great pool and view. Great place for a peaceful break. Would definitely stay here again.

This is truly a gem to be discovered. The setting is absolutely extraordinary, nested high along the hills, the views of the Douro Valley and the vignards is breathtaking, the surroundings is so relaxing. The village is very charming, like stepping back in time. The service is impeccable, from the time we arrived, Maria and her staff went over and above. For stunning views and quality service, look no further this is the place you must go.

Greetings fellow travellers. If you are looking for cosy, beautiful and personal - this is it! We booked 1 night at this place and decided right away to extent our stay. The location is so special and beautiful and Maria made us feel right at home. Her level of service is through the roof. Also, the hike from the hotel to Pinhao is picturesque. A few details to bear in mind

The location is really good (in the middle of the vineyards and with several estates in the surrounding area) and the place is new/fresh (note that you will not be staying in the charming building you see on the pictures). While the owners are nice, one of the staff members was really unpleasant (never returned our greetings - whether we addressed her in English or Portuguese -, sighing when performing her tasks around the guests). A few things to bear in mind: 1- for light sleepers: the rooms on the ground floor (standard rooms) 1 and 2 are opening to the check-in and breakfast area and the insulation is quite poor. You will be hearing the noise coming from that main room + the sound from upstairs rooms. 2- for people with reduced mobility: there are flights of stairs from the parking to the main entrance and then again to access upstairs rooms (no elevator).

Stunning property in a quiet charming village. We were greeted with a beautiful glass of wine made from their vineyard - after a day of driving it felt like entering a true oasis. The pool was beautiful and so was the scenery it overlooked. Everything was taking care of, from dinner reservations at the restaurant in town one night to an in-house delicious option on our second night. Breakfast was delicious too. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The property was great for us. The hotel is well looked after. Our room was a good size and very nice. The lobby/reception area was very nice. We sat there a couple nights after dinner and enjoyed a nice glass of wine with a few other guests. Also a very nice pool area if you’re there in the warmer weather. Maria was very helpful and booked us a wine tasting and a river cruise. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
