We recently spent three nights at The Mcdonald Hotel during a short getaway to the Lake District, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth — the kind that immediately sets the tone for a relaxing, memorable break.

The Location:
The Hotel is perfectly situated — tucked away enough to feel peaceful and secluded, but still within easy walking distance to the local shops and tourist areas and some incredible walking trails. We spent our days hiking, boating, and wandering through quaint villages with just the right number of tea shops and pubs. The hotel staff were also brilliant with local recommendations — they pointed us to a hidden trail that led to one of the best views we’ve
