Doesn’t live upto what we imagined

We went to Field Station for vacation in Yucca Valley to be near Joshua Tree NP. The room was at the far rear end, no view, just the car park. Other rooms on the main building had chairs & tables on a mini terrace overlooking a fire pit. People upstairs walked around at 4.30 / 5am, getting ready for a sunrise hike - the insulation isn’t great. The decor wasn’t quite what it looked like on the web, not as stylish & felt smaller. There could have been a bit more art or shelves in rooms - it felt like they’d cut a few corners & hadn’t fulfilled their vision and the refurb budget fell short. The couch was a 2 person folding camping couch (we saw this in the web pics but thought there would also be another couch since the room was for 6 people!)…The other seating furniture was like a folding directors chair. The bunk beds didn’t have reading lights - could be such a cheap & easy addition. Overall it was clean & modern. The pictures of a 6 person room on the web showed a bath & shower - our bathroom was tiny, it was literally a shower cubicle & toilet in the smallest space! The pics of the pool looked slightly bigger on the website & it was quite cold & felt dated. Note that there was no housekeeping, which I can understand being in its location. Overall its vision & branding is great, but it doesn’t quite deliver - it could do with just a few minor improvements & maybe have photos that don’t use wide angle so you get a true representation of size & aren’t disappointed.

Wonderful stay for exploring the national park

We stayed here 2 nights after booking another property but deciding last minute not to go there due to reviews about bedbugs. Given this was fairly last minute we were really pleasantly surprised with how high the quality was. The front desk staff were lovely and very accommodating. When their WiFi was down they gave us free drinks which was so kind. The hotel was immaculate and well furnished. The location was excellent for exploring Joshua tree national park and they provided recommendations for hikes. They also have a pool and games as well as a firepit which were all lovely touches and well maintained. It could only be improved by maybe providing an in room safe, small complimentary coffee tray in the room and perhaps a grab and go lunch option for taking into the park as we would have purchased this if possible. However the paid for coffee that we purchased was good quality and fairly good value. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

This was an underwhelming experience and quite on the pricey side for what it was. The rooms are nice, but can be very loud with the upstairs neighbors. The wifi was down most of the morning and it delayed our check in. I've stayed at two other Autocamp locations and the service and friendliness of staff is a world of difference. I would rather spend the extra money and stay at an Autocamp

Large clean rooms, 30 mins for National park

Large rooms which look recently refurbished. Felt a little bare in places like no wardrobes or drawers just a bed and small table and chair in a large room. Very clean and quiet though. Reception very helpful. Can buy coffees and snacks at reception. There is a ‘gear shop’ but it is really just selling Field Station merchandise like hoodies and key chains. About 30 min drive to Joshua Tree park entrance and a supermarket and several restaurants/cafe close within 5 min drive.

We were visiting Joshua Tree National Park for a couple days of hiking and the Field Station was a perfect location to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food and drink options were available to order at the front desk. Our room was clean and we loved the minimalist decor. It had everything we needed. Hotel is close to local restaurants, cafes, shopping and beautiful Joshua Tree NP.

Finally a hip hotel in the Hi-Dez. All the obligatory features: polished cement floors, strange wall mounted clothes hangers, great art. Lobby was cool, with more art, fun but spendy merch, good coffee (but not free). Firepit and pool.

Stay was only OK. Selected for availability, location and price. NOT ECO. Very stark as to what we expected. No cups in the room, but no compunction of throwing stuff away in the lobby/restaurant/showroom.

This stay was a little off. The room is very clean but barren and not exactly welcoming. Bought a bottle of wine and there were no drinking cups in room or bathroom - so we had to postpone our beverage until the next evening. No coffee pot in room. They have coffee available in lobby to purchase. We knew there was no breakfast, but was surprised at no free coffee in lobby.
