Our stay at the New Inn Hotel was a last minute booking due to our travel plans going awry. We searched hotels.com and a few options in the area we wanted to stay came back. I’ll be honest and say the price was the deciding factor for us as we didn’t want to spend too much, so given the comparably low price, our expectations of the New Inn were not high

The bedroom was spacious and clean. The decor everywhere is very tired in the bedroom, bar, stairs, restaurant, outside. The interior was unclean and shabby. The staff were ok. The food was not. Overcooked chicken in a burger which was meant to be a chicken breast not breadcrumbed and fried/airfried. Breakfast was also poor. Little choice, tables uncleared, no cooked food being replaced, only sausages left by 9am. The website pictures are misleading as to the quality of the hotel. Very disappointed especially as it’s not the usual standard of Hotels.com listing.

The heating in the room wasn't working. It wasn't an issue as they brought us a really good heater however being able to dry some things on the heated towel rail would've been useful. Also hot chocolate in room would be good. Breakfast was awesome. Thought we were just getting a continental which would have been fine but we also got Cumberland sausages and bacon. Staff were really friendly and the room was so cosy. Would love to stay again.

Room was large and clean with a bath and shower. The hotel is in a beautiful village next to the river and many lovely walks. Evening meal was excellent, as was breakfast. All the staff were great with Naomi going above and beyond.

Disappointing stay, especially as I have stayed here twice before and previously been very satisfied. There was no hot water or heating, making the room very uncomfortable. I was told on arrival that food orders would stop at 18:00, but not that the menu would be extremely limited with no vegetarian options. Despite being advised the hotel would close at 23:00, the bar was shut and the hotel effectively closed by around 20:30. Breakfast was equally poor, with no staff present, very limited, low-quality food, and again very few vegetarian options. Overall, the lack of basic amenities, poor service, and substandard food made this a very disappointing stay.

Our room was a good size with a big bathroom and a comfy bed. The staff were super friendly and the bar and restaurant were nice, with great food. Had a lovely stay and plan on going back.
