We were gone all day, our room wasn’t cleaned until the evening. We were only given one bath towel for two people. We did not receive clean glasses for second day. The day bartender had no clue what she was doing. She didn’t know how to make a proper Chilton! She messed up order after order while we sat at the bar. She had trouble ringing up orders…what a disaster. She kept blaming it on it being busy- there were maybe 16-20 people. The second night the bartenders were great and it was very busy! The Overton used to be top notch…hopefully things will get turned around.

After checking into the room I was washing up and noticed it was dirty behind the faucet, I looked closer and saw an old dried up contact lens. I went and told the front desk and they called house keeping. I decided I’d go for a walk. I was gone for almost 2 hours and when I got back the room still hadn’t been cleaned. I went to the front desk again and complained. One of the ladies there went up and personally cleaned it. I then went to the bar and ordered a rare ribeye and it came out well done, they sent it back and when I got it again it was closer to raw than rare. Kitchen manager came out and talked with me and he made it right. I normally don’t complain but for this price of room and steak my expectations were higher than what I received. Front desk ladies, bartenders and managers of the bar/kitchen were all super friendly and polite. If ever in Lubbock again I will give it another shot.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times, but this might be our last. If you haven’t stayed here, this hotel has a HUGE parking lot - and they now charge you to park overnight. (It’s Lubbock, not Dallas - give me a break!) When we checked in (after reserving a king room), we went to the room and had been given two beds. I called downstairs and was told “we’re full and have none” - reminded us of a Seinfeld episode. After going downstairs and checking again, lo and behold they had a king room. (I THINK it’s because we booked through Hotels.com…their preference is for you to book directly through them) The hotel / rooms are looking tired. They need to inject some CapEx $$ in the property. Upon checking out, I wasn’t asked if I’d like a copy of my receipt. I was told it would come via email. I was referring to incidentals - I had to call once home to actually GET that receipt. The front desk staff was very whatever. All in all, this hotel has been better. I’d look elsewhere.

I believed the price was a little high. Also did not like how the parking lot was busy at night with everyone parking to go to the club across the street. Sat down at a table in the bar area and waited 10 minutes and no one came to our table, even though they saw us sitting there. Got up and asked for a menu and got one and even after doing that, no one still did not come to the table to ask if we wanted to order anything.

Do better Overton! You have such an amazing location, extremely friendly staff and the opportunity to have an amazing hotel. The overall cleanliness of the room just doesn’t make you feel relaxed and happy to be there. Overall, the hotel just needs some attention, love, and just a very deep clean
