Great location

Not a 5 star. But the rooms are nice enough with cold ac. The Hotel has walking access (literally thru a few palm trees) to North beach. Which is why I assume you are visiting Isla. Cant beat the location. Up against the beach and walking distance to restaurants.

Great Location

The staff is very nice, and the rooms were very clean. The grounds are lovely, and the location is perfect. The bathroom had been remodeled recently, but the room we had was really dated, with ill fitting doors, jenky locks, and a switch that kept turning off the refrigerator. The two double beds are not queen beds, and the luggage and storage spaces are very limited. However, if you travel light (a couple swimsuits, a beach towel and a sundress) this place is for you.

Perfekt läge nära stranden. Fin hotellträdgård och pool. Vi bodde i annexet vid restaurangen på andra sidan. Lugnt, tyst, jättebra och nära stranden. Frukosten var ju i enklaste laget men det gick att köpa till allt man kan önska. Bra restaurang. Däremot var personalservicen i receptionen under all kritik. Sura, långsamma och inte alls särskilt intresserade av sina gäster. Tyvärr. Allt annat okej men detta drar ner betyget.

Our charming terrace room had a sweeping view of the turquoise ocean. Clean spacious room and comfortable bed. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is adjacent to the ferry so it was very convenient to stay here after our Isla Mujeres trip. Malls and Mercado 28 were a short drive away. The huge bougainvillea and giant pothos plants were stunning. The breakfast by the beach and the little sweet girl there was heart warming. 🙏

Great place, the rooms need TLC.

I would consider staying here again based on the location, you can walk right out to the beach from the hotel and it's absolutely amazing! The exterior of the hotel is great, quaint and quiet. The rooms though.. that's another story. We went with my parents and between the two rooms (57 and 50) this is what we experienced. Our room, 57 had a huge chunk of mold in the upper corner and then the plaster was crumbling at the bottom towards the floor. There isn't much water pressure to take a shower and you never really feel clean. Room 50, the upper tank on the toilet was broken and leaking. My parents had to put a cup over their sink drain because a cockroach came up out of it. My dad ended up with bed bugs all over his legs. The rooms didn't have internet and you could really watch TV, which is totally fine because we're on vacation but we also have small kids and they just needed some down time once in awhile and even to get out of the sun for an hour. So, if they could have had the option to just relax and watch a movie for an hour that would have been ideal (for us). If they took a little time and just put a little effort into the rooms themselves, I truly would give this hotel a 10/10.

This was our 2nd stay at Cabanas Maria del Mar. We had a ground floor Cabana room around the pool area. This property is truly a piece of paradise steps from the famous and super busy playa Norte. If you want to visit Isla Mujeres, but also escape the busy crowds on the beach and the streets, this hotel is your perfect option. Most days are quiet around the pool. The rooms are kept perfectly clean by the dedicated staff. Every cabana room has a spacious outside area with a table and chairs. Wifi is available around the pool but does not extend to some rooms.
