Great hotel by the beach

Really nice and clean hotel on the calm side of El puerto de Santa Maria. Perfect location, friendly staff and clean and spacious rooms! Breakfast was great There are many different activities available for you in this hotel. The pool is huge and there is plenty of space for sunchairs and sunbathing. If we come back to El puerto de Santa Maria we will definitely stay again at this location!

We liked the garden and entertainment area and there was plenty of space to sit and relax, both inside and out. The Hotel Puertobahia is great hotel to spend a few days relaxing. The amenities are wonderful and the rooms comfortable. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of items at a reasonable price. The only negative comment I will make is that the reception area seems to have a lot of staff standing chatting with each while the guest line up gets longer.

Having in mind that is a 3 stars hotel and not a 4 stars hotel, the stay was ok. The food is absolutely terrible and worth for a 1-star hotel. How is it possible for a "supposedly 4 stars hotel to serve that kind of food??? It's mind blowing. During the meals, the guests tend to get aggressive towards one another to get the food, since it is a buffet style. On the picture bellow you can see how breakfast looks like. On a positive note, the location in amazing.

This property is in a great location, has great parking and the staff were all excellent. But this is not a 4 star property, it would be lucky to be three star with today’s standards. What four star hotel do you know that doesn’t have pool towels and rather sells you towels? No real food at the pool area, it’s basically a coffee shop. This is a wasted opportunity for the hotel which is very family orientated, they could easily sell burgers and hotdogs and club sandwiches for both kids and adults. They have no porter service, no room service, no restaurant, just a dinning hall buffet style at all meals. This cannot be a four star category hotel, much less in a tourist area on the beach. But all that said it’s a well kept older property that was very nice to stay at and fun for my kids, but expectations and standards were not met.

✅ Pros • Close to the beach with nice sand • Free parking available in the surrounding streets • Many good restaurants in the area • Nice entrance area, decent rooms with balcony • Price for 4 nights with breakfast (420 € for 3 people) seems fair at first glance ❌ Cons • Very noisy: loud conversations, doors constantly slamming, chairs being dragged, and even crying babies can be heard clearly • Buzzing lamp in the room was reported on the first day but never fixed during our stay • Outdoor pool much smaller than shown in the photos and lacking privacy (overlooked by nearby residential balconies) • Mini golf course poorly maintained and rather an eyesore as a balcony view • Spa area costs extra, although the description made it sound like it was included • Breakfast completely disappointing: very standard selection, hardly any vegetables (only tomatoes, no peppers, cucumbers, carrots…), not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. The buffet looks bigger than it is because of repeated plates, but in reality offers much less variety than expected for €12 p.p. & poor food quality (scrambled eggs tasted watery/milky, “cappuccino” with powdered milk and a splash of cocoa, cornflakes tasted like cardboard), Overcrowded breakfast room, cups constantly unavailable • Beach scenery dominated by harbor facilities, water not clear • Communication via Expedia only in Spanish Main reason for poor rating: Overall standard is far below expectations of a 4 star hotel
