The hotel was impossible to find. There was no signage, blacked out windows and the neighbouring building had white washed windows that looked closed up. On the other side of the entrance had gates closed up with a padlock and chain with a sign saying academy. It really looked like a disused building! We drove around trying to find a car park that doesn’t exist, despite the email the day before our stay giving us parking instructions. We had to pay £30 parking at a nearby car park and walk. We booked a room with a view but the windows had a film blocking out any view. There was no soap in the room! No kettle apart from a drink station down in the lobby, which had cold water in the urn and no cups. Later in the evening a different member of staff told us of a free parking elsewhere but when we asked when we checked in, they didn’t help us. No bedside tables, very basic. We booked a twin but had to separate the beds ourselves. The mattress was full of craters where there were large dips. Booked a deluxe room but it seems that they are all just standard which we paid extra for. Not like the photos. Room was hot, unable to open windows. Only 1 pillow each and no spares. Key cards kept failing to work even though a conscious effort was made to keep it away from our phones. Seemed to have some recent decor updates but very basic and plain. Doors are very loud and bang shut so very hard to get any sleep. Great location for the arena but otherwise needs a lot of sorting Except refund!
