Good: the room was big and the location is fantastic. Beds are very comfortable. Food store is 50 meters away, so very convenient. Check in and check out were very easy. The staff was responsive when we informed them about the broken kettle. They replaced it right away! Bad: despite turning off all the heaters in the room and the hallway, it was still ridiculously hot inside the room. The shower curtains were yellow and moldy at the bottom and it felt a bit unclean. They need to be replaced or washed more frequently. The rest of the bathroom was fine. I would suggest adding a little stool or something to the shower rooms because there is nowhere to place your items except on the sink. This is super annoying as a woman who needs lots of things in the shower room! We stayed 6 nights and wouldn’t be able to have the towels changed without a fee - this is insane considering the length of our stay. Also, not sure why we need to take the trash out…we paid for both the room and cleaning services so I think this should be included.

This is a self-service guest house so do not expect hotel-level services. There is no staff on site. But it is an economical alternative to Torshavn's expensive hotels. Its location is unbeatable. During my stay all the other guests were respectful and quiet so there were no problems. The bathrooms are shared but proved to not be a problem. Different folks had different schedules so there was never an issue of accessing a bathroom. The hotels.com listing mentions parking. This is not correct. There is no dedicated parking. But there are a couple of public lots of only a modest walk away where you can park 23 out of 24 hours without moving your car. The public spaces in the immediate vicinity are free but restricted to 30 minutes or 2 hours...works well enough to unload your luggage but then you need to move your car to one of the longer term lots. The kitchenette is adequate. There is a shared fridge with a dedicate modest-sized space for each room, but no freezer. There are two food stores within 5 minutes' walk.

Good value

The guesthouse was a great value and was in a convenient location. My only issue was that there were many available rooms but was given a room adjacent to the street (on Friday and Saturday night) so it was loud ( lots of late night partying outside. Also, I was directly above the entrance door so was awakened by the door slamming.

Nous ne recommandons pas

Il n’y a aucune réception, donc personne pour nous aider et répondre à nos questions. Nous avons demandé un service, à savoir déposer nos gros sacs pour ne pas les avoir sur le dos toute la journée en randonnée, ça nous a été refusé, ou alors il fallait faire un early check-in, ce dont nous n’avions pas besoin et payer 20€ par personne ! 300€ pour une nuit, dans un hostel ou il n’y a rien dans les chambres, pas même un petit thé ou café offert.

Séjour très agréable dans cet endroit atypique

Super bien placé en plein centre de Torshavn Le dialogue avec le gestionnaire pour l'arrivée ou pour toutes questions par la suite est simple et aboutie toujours a une solution La chambre et grande et lumineuse Les parties communes sont propres et bien gérées Le système de bannettes associées a chaque chambre est bien pensé pour le partage du frigo et des placards Grandes douches très agréables Par contre il est dommage que les lumières ne s'éteignent pas automatiquement dans les parties communes : certains hôtes laissent les lumières des douches ou des salons communs allumées toutes la nuit Pour un long séjour de 11 nuits, il serait bien de changer le linge (draps et serviettes) au moins une fois A part ça nous recommandons cet endroit pour votre séjour aux Iles Féroé !!

Decent budget option

Extremely central, and check-in/check-out with the lockbox was easy. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable, but it got a bit warm in the room during the day and the window could only be opened a few centimeters. The common areas were kinda smelly/musty, eating breakfast there was not very appetizing. There was leftover moldy bread in the kitchen, and there were no bowls. Saturday night was noisy outside due to the nightclub down the street, but the rest of the week it was fairly quiet. We also had the boiler in our room which made a constant low humming noise, but that wasn't so bad. Overall, it was just ok for the cheap price considering the location, nothing terrible but also nothing great.
